Delhi University (DU), Delhi Cutoff
Delhi University Cutoff 2024: The University of Delhi, commonly known as DU, publishes DU cutoffs for undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses on its official website, @du.ac.in. To get admission to DU, candidates must appear in the CUET (Common University Entrance Test) and clear the DU cutoff for the specific course.
Delhi University Cutoff 2024 Overview
The University of Delhi cutoff is the minimum entrance exam score required for candidates to be admitted to the program of their choosing. Each course at Delhi University has a different cut-off. Every year, Delhi University publishes the cut-off scores for numerous rounds. Although DU does not set a cutoff for the courses it offers, all of its affiliated universities reveal the DU cutoff in 8-9 rounds.
The number of applicants in a given year, as well as the highest proportion of students who pass the qualifying exam, both have an impact on the DU cutoff. Women, applicants from reserved categories, and those applying under the ECA quota are all given a reprieve in the cut-off marks at DU.
In 2024, Delhi University will announce the DU cutoff based on factors such as seat availability, the specific program of interest, preferred college, and applicant category. For the year 2024, a total of 80,000 seats are open for students seeking admission to Delhi University. Some of the highly competitive colleges within Delhi University, such as Shri Ram College of Commerce, Lady Shri Ram College, Ramjas College, and St. Stephen’s College, have strict admission requirements. To determine the selection of students, the National Testing Agency (NTA) administers the Common University Entrance Test for multiple central universities, including the University of Delhi.

DU CSAS Seat Allotment Process for 2024
Delhi University has introduced the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) for admitting students to its undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses across all affiliated colleges after the declaration of the DU cutoff. Here’s how the process works:
Phase 1: CSAS 2023 Application
To start, applicants need to complete the CSAS 2024 application form on the central admission portal and pay a one-time, non-refundable application fee. ECA and sports quota candidates will also need to pay an additional fee.
Phase 2: Course and College Selection
The second phase begins after the CUET exam results are published. Once the CUET results are out, eligible candidates must choose their desired courses and pick the colleges they prefer on the central CSAS portal.
Phase 3: Seat Allocation and Final Admission
The merit list will be prepared based on CUET scores. Multiple rounds of seat allocation will be conducted. Candidates should regularly check the CSAS dashboard to see if they’ve been allocated a seat. If they get one, they must confirm their acceptance within the specified time for that round.
Seat allocation depends on several factors, including the combination of the chosen college and program, the candidate’s position on the merit list, their category (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/UR), and seat availability.
Once a seat is accepted, the university will review eligibility, verify documents, and complete the admission process after receiving the required fee.

DU Cutoff: Factors
Delhi University's cut-off for UG and PG courses is decided on various factors. We have discussed the factors influencing the DU cutoff in brief for interested students’ better understanding.
1. CUET UG 2024 normalized marks: The performance in the Common University Entrance Test for Undergraduates (CUET UG) plays a significant role in determining the cutoff.
2. Total number of seats available: The availability of seats for admission in a specific course and college affects the cutoff, with highly competitive courses having stricter cutoffs.
3. Candidate’s category: Different categories (like General, OBC, SC, ST) may have separate cutoffs, as reserved categories may have lower cutoffs compared to the general category.
4. Choice of course or college: Some courses or colleges are more popular and competitive, leading to higher cutoffs, while others may have lower cutoffs.
5. Previous year’s cutoff marks: Past cutoff trends also influence the current year’s Delhi University cutoff, as they provide an idea of the level of competition for admission.
