Delhi University, officially known as the University of Delhi (DU), stands as a prominent public university in New Delhi, India. It was established back in 1922 through an act by the Central Legislative Assembly. DU holds the prestigious recognition of an Institute of Eminence by the UGC. Delhi University has been accredited NAAC ‘A+’ grade.

Starting its journey with four colleges: St. Stephen’s College (founded in 1881), Hindu College (founded in 1899), Zakir Husain Delhi College (founded in 1792), and Ramjas College (founded in 1917), two faculties, and 750 students, Delhi University has since evolved into India’s largest and globally renowned hub for higher education. Spread across its North and South campuses, the university now encompasses 16 faculties, 86 departments, 91 constituent colleges, and five additional institutes. The Vice President of India serves as the university’s chancellor.

DU admission is based on CUET for all the courses. Also, admission to all the affiliated colleges of the University of Delhi is done in online mode. The university accepts CUET-UG scores for undergraduate courses and CUET-PG scores for postgraduate courses. The basic eligibility for UG admissions is 10+2 from a recognized board and for PG admissions is Graduation in the relevant field from a recognized university. Minimum Eligibility for DU Admission 2024

• For candidates belonging to the UR/OBC-NCL/EWS category, the minimum eligibility is 50%marks aggregate or equivalent grade in the qualifying examination as per the Program-Specific Eligibility 
• For candidates belonging to the SC/ST/PwBD category, the minimum eligibility is 45% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade in the qualifying examination as per the Program-Specific Eligibility

How to apply for DU Admission 2024?

Students seeking admission to Delhi University first need to register for the CUET (UG/PG) exam. Afterward, students have to register at Delhi University's Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) to complete the admission process.

Step 1: DU Application through CUET UG/PG

To apply for undergraduate admissions, candidates should visit the official CUET UG website at cuet.samarth.ac.in. 

For postgraduate admissions, the CUET PG official website - cuet.nta.nic.in should be visited. 

• After that, Click on the 'Register' tab. (Carefully review the provided information)
• Click on the 'Proceed' button. You'll be redirected to the application form.
• Fill out the required details. Additionally, documents like signatures, photographs, and mark sheets must be uploaded accurately. 
• Pay the application fees and submit the application form.
• Take the printout of the form for future reference.

Step 2: DU Application Process: Common Seat Allocation System

• Navigate to Delhi University's official website at admission.uod.ac.in or Visit the CSAS portal at cuet.samarth.ac.in.
• Select "Register" from the menu bar.
• Thoroughly review all provided information before clicking on “proceed.”
• Enter your personal and academic information as required.
• Upload necessary documents including your photograph, signature, Class X mark sheet, and category certificate.
• Complete the application fee payment using options like credit card, debit card, net banking, UPI, etc.
• Submit the application form.
• Print a copy of the application for your records and future reference.

The DU cutoffs for undergraduate (UG) courses at Delhi University are determined by the scores obtained in the CUET entrance exams. Similarly, for postgraduate (PG) courses, the CUET PG scores are considered for setting the cutoffs. 

Annually, merit lists are released in rounds on the official website admission.uod.ac.in. The final admission process is conducted through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS), which evaluates CUET and CUET PG scores. Additionally, Delhi University grants admission through several national-level exams, such as NEET, NEET PG, NEET SS, NEET MDS, AYUSH, AIAPGET, CAT, and others.

Recently, the DU placement drive at SRCC phase 1 2023-24 saw 160 job offers by 44 recruiters. The highest CTC in the 2023 placement drive was INR 35 LPA, while the average CTC was INR 12.73 LPA. According to the DU NIRF report 2023, the median package offered during Delhi University’s UG (3-year) placements in 2022 was INR 5 LPA. Delhi University has been placed at the top of the country as per the Centre for World University Ranking (CWUR) ranking and is 22nd by the NIRF ranking 2023.
