Distance Education Program at the University of Calicut:
Under Graduate Distance Courses
The University offers one distance course in Commerce, one in Science stream and eleven master's degree courses in Arts. The candidates have to follow the same procedure as in the case of Under Graduate Distant courses to avail the remote mode education.
The admissions to Calicut University for Ph.D. and M.Phil programmes is made by the entrance test conducted by the University. The candidate will be admitted to the course on the basis of marks obtained in the exam followed by the interview. The test is of two hours duration and consist of both objective and subject questions of 50 marks each in the paper.

Calicut University B.Tech Eligibility Criteria
B.Tech
- Candidates for the B.Tech degree who have passed the HSE, Kerala, or examinations recognized as equivalent thereto with 50% in PCM and 50% in Mathematics.
- The candidate's scores in computer science will be taken into account if chemistry was not one of their studies.
B.Tech (LE)
- Candidates must have successfully completed an institutional course lasting at least three years and earned a Diploma in Engineering from the State Board of Technical Education or an equivalent, with a minimum grade of 60%.
- For diploma candidates who are members of the SC/ST community, a minimum of 50% is required. Only the branch of engineering in which they received their diploma, or branches that are equivalent, will be eligible for later entry.

JEE Mains:
Depending on the type of candidacy, there are different application fees for taking this exam. It costs INR 325 to apply for the general category. The requirements and procedure for JEE Mains registration are explained in the section that follows.

- BA: Applicants must have passed the Kerala State Board's HSE exam or a test that is recognized as being an equivalent.

MA:
1. Economics:
- A B.A. from the University of Calicut in Economics, Foreign Trade, or Development Economics with at least 55% in Part III (excluding subsidiaries) or an equivalent grade OR

- The relaxation of marks/grades is only permitted based on the qualifying marks exclusive of the grace mark procedures, and the eligibility mark of 55% (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever a grading system is used) is required.
