Telangana University was established in 2006 at Dichpally of Nizamabad district by the government of United Andhra Pradesh. The University provides various Under Graduate and Post Graduate Degrees and Diploma in 26 courses, making it largest number of courses provider among new universities. Telangana University also ranks Third amongst the newly formed universities. This university offers traditional as well as modern courses and has some best job providing courses.
Admission in numerous Courses provided by the university is based on Common Entrance Test i.e. TUCET/OU conducted by the University. The University follows the rule of reservation according to the government norms and reserves 85% of its total seats for candidates of Nizamabad and Adilabad.

Telangana University is one of the newest formed university and out of all the newly formed university, Telangana University is the one to get the UGC (University Grant Commission) 12B recognition. UGC sponsored Major and Minor Projects have been given to more than half a dozen of the teaching staff. There are many scholars teaching the Telangana University Courses have been awarded Rajiv Gandhi National Fellow Ships which is given by the UGC.
Telangana University is named after the name of its state “Telangana”. The name of the University is itself unique and gives it a recognition all over the country.
In the Telangana state, it is the third largest University after Osmania University at Hyderabad and Kakatiya University at Warangal. Telangana University is competing pretty well with the Universities like Palamuru University (Mahaboobnagar), Satavahana University (Karimnagar) and Mahatma Gandhi University (Nalgonda).
