The Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai (ICT Mumbai), a Deemed to be University, came into existence in the year 1933. The institute was established as the Department of Chemical Technology by the University of Mumbai. Many industries and philanthropists helped actively during the commencement of the institute. It was previously known as the University Department of Chemical Technology (UDCT). The main objective of establishing the institute was to provide focused training and research in several branches of Chemical Engineering, Chemical Technology, and Pharmacy.
