The Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai (ICT Mumbai), a Deemed to be University, came into existence in the year 1933. The institute was established as the Department of Chemical Technology by the University of Mumbai. Many industries and philanthropists helped actively during the commencement of the institute. It was previously known as the University Department of Chemical Technology (UDCT). The main objective of establishing the institute was to provide focused training and research in several branches of Chemical Engineering, Chemical Technology, and Pharmacy. • It has also ben accredited with grade ‘A++’ by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council and National Board of Accreditation.

• Candidates seeking admission to the undergraduate programs are shortlisted based on their performance in JEE Main or MHT CET examinations.

ICT Mumbai considers national and state-level exams such as JEE Main, GATE, MHT CET, etc, for granting admission to different ICT Mumbai Courses. The ICT Mumbai JEE Main cutoff for BChem under the general category stood at 15295, 26027, and 28938 for the years 2023, 2022, and 2021 respectively. ICT Mumbai Placements 2025 is not out yet. The ICT Mumbai Placements for the year 2024 concluded with the Highest Package of Rs. 9 LPA and the Average Package of Rs. 6 LPA. Out of 264 eligible UG candidates, 127 were placed. In the PG program, 192 out of 310 candidates secured placements, while 31 of 116 eligible PG Integrated candidates were placed with a Median Package of Rs. 7.5 LPA.

As per the NIRF Reports 2025 submitted by ICT Mumbai, the Median Package for B.Tech and M.Tech students during the 2024 placement season was Rs. 9 LPA and Rs. 7 LPA, respectively. This marks a slight increase from the previous year, where the Median Package for B.Tech stood at 8 LPA, and for M.Tech at 7 LPA.

A diverse range of top companies visited the campus for recruitment, including industry giants like Asian Paints, Godrej, IPCA, Mapro, Amul, Reliance, Sula, Lupin, HP, FMI, Parle, Dr. Reddy, and Century, among others. These companies offered a broad spectrum of career opportunities to graduates in various domains.

ICT Mumbai Placements 2024: Course-wise Median Package

During the ICT Mumbai Placements 2024, the B.Tech Median Package was Rs. 9 LPA, which showed significant growth compared to previous years. Other courses, such as M.Tech, B.Pharm, M.Pharm, and PG Integrated, also saw positive trends, with median packages ranging from Rs. 5.75 LPA to Rs. 8 LPA.

The Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT), Mumbai has secured the 5th position in the Pharmacy category of the India Rankings 2024, marking its second consecutive year at this ranking. Previously, ICT Mumbai held the 4th position for four years in a row, from 2017 to 2020. It was ranked 5th in 2021 and 7th in 2022 in the same category.
