HBTU Campus Tour
HBTU Campus is divided into two parts, i.e., the east campus and the west campus. The East Campus is also known as the academic block and comprises of administrative offices and various departments, a central library, an auditorium, a workshop, cafeterias, a computer centre, a guest house, a medical centre, an electronics department, a bank, four girls' hostels, two boys' hostel,s and a sports ground. The West Campus comprises three boys' hostels, DBRA hotels, new hostels, a gymnasium, a community center, residential quarters,a bank, and playgrounds.

HBTU History
The Harcourt Butler Technical University, also known as HBTU, is one of the leading Residential universities located in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, which focuses on Research, Development, and Incubation in the field of Engineering, Technology, Basic & Applied Sciences, Humanities, Social Science, & Management Architecture. On September 1, 2016, it was granted the status of University under the HBTU Act, 2016, passed by the Government of Uttar Pradesh.
Harcourt Butler Technical University (HBTU), originally known as Harcourt Butler Technological Institute (HBTI), is a prestigious and renowned state university . Mr. Spencer Harcourt Butler, Governor of the United Provinces of British India, is the inspiration behind the naming of the HBTU. Under the university, its programs have been granted autonomous status. Being one of the oldest engineering schools in the nation, it is certified ISO and accredited by the NAAC A+.
The National Sugar Institute (founded in 1936 under the name Imperial Institute of Sugar Technology), the Government Central Textile Institute (founded in 1937), the Glass Institute, the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (also known as Government Engineering College, GEC/M) in 2015, and the Uttar Pradesh Textile Technology Institute (now known as the IIT/K) in 1960 are all descendants of HBTU. Additionally, it was one of the 127 technical colleges in India that received funding for the first phase (2004–2009) of the Technical Engineering Educational Quality Improvement Project, the first World Bank project in higher education in India, from the International Development Association (IDA) of the World Bank.

HBTU Kanpur Application Process

HBTU accepts the following examinations for admission:
- JEE Advanced, also known as the Joint Entrance Examination- Advanced, is a national-level entrance examination conducted annually by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) in May.
- JEE Main also known as Joint Entrance Examination- Main, is also a national level entrance examination which was conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) until this year, but from upcoming sessions, the examination would be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in the months of January and April.
- UPSEE, also known as the Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination, is a state-level entrance examination conducted by Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU)in April.
- GATE, also known as Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, is a post-graduate level entrance examination, conducted by the Indian Institutes of Technology and IISc Bangalore on behalf of the National Coordinating Board. The examination is conducted in February.
