XLRI Jamshedpur Starts the New Academic Year with PDGM and CHRO Programs

Xavier School of Management (XLRI), one of India’s best management institutes, started its new academic year with great joy and energy, welcoming the new batch of students enrolled in its flagship Postgraduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) and the Emerging CHRO programs.

The inauguration ceremony was held at the iconic Tata Auditorium, which brought the students, including PGDM (GM) Batch 2025-26, consisting of 120 students (48 Female & 72 Male), and PGDM (HRM) for Emerging CHROs (Batch-4) consisting of 30 students (12 Female & 18 Male), faculty members, staff, and distinguished guests together for an event meant to highlight the institute’s ongoing legacy of value-based education and its vision for the future of leadership.

Fr. S. George, S.J., Director of XLRI, spoke at the gathering and encouraged the students to approach their academic journey with enthusiasm to learn, create, and serve society. “At XLRI, education is not just about securing high-paying jobs. It’s about building leaders with integrity and purpose,” he said. He also encouraged the new batch to contribute positively to organizations and communities alike.

Other esteemed guests who encouraged the students along with him were Fr. Donald D’Silva, S.J., Dean of Administration and Finance, and Prof. Sanjay Patro, Dean of Academics. Both emphasized the importance of asking questions, having a curious mind, and overcoming the fear of trying new things in the business world. The PGDM program welcomed students from across the country, representing diverse academic, professional, and regional backgrounds. This diversity, faculty members believe, will create a vibrant learning atmosphere where peer-to-peer learning plays a significant role.

The Emerging CHRO program, launched in partnership with Leadup Universe, envisioned the commencement of its fourth batch. Tailored for HR professionals aspiring to begin strategic thinking and take on different leadership roles in the real world. The 18-month-long course includes many different things, like expert-led sessions, case discussions, and a capstone project that allows participants to apply their learning in live organizational settings.

During the ceremony, faculty members conducted orientation sessions introducing students to the academic structure, institutional values, and available resources. Students also participated in different new activities and small-group interactions to encourage collaboration and teamwork from day one.

The event concluded with a prayer service and blessings for the new academic journey. The atmosphere was filled with joy, hope, purpose, and a common belief in shaping the leaders of tomorrow.

As the new academic year begins, XLRI continues its mission of developing responsible leaders who not only excel in business but also carry forward the spirit of ethical and sustainable management.
