West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) started the Class XII board exams on 3rd March 2025 (Monday). The first paper was language paper, whereas the exam will conclude 18th March, with statistics and geography being the last papers.

The students reached the exam centre as per the reporting time mentioned in their WBCHSE admit cards carrying their stationary items and other necessary objects for the exam.

As per an official record, nearly 1,29,757 students from North Bengal are writing the higher secondary exams this year. Out of them, 4,206 candidates are from the Darjeeling hills, 10,469 from Siliguri, 2,770 from Kalimpong, 15,500 from Jalpaiguri, 10,061 from Alipurduar, 17,840 from Cooch Behar, 27,130 from North Dinajpur, 9,047 from South Dinajpur, and 32,651 from Malda.

The exams are being held in a single session from 10 am to 1 pm at multiple centres. For safe and smooth proceedings, the police administration has also placed security personnel and made necessary arrangements to ensure discipline at exam centres.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on February 23, sent greetings to board exam students asking them to be happy and answer questions without worrying about anything in a positive mind frame.

Referring to the 119th edition of his 'Mann ki Baat' show, PM Modi stated, “These are board exam times. I wish my young friends and the exam warriors all the best for future exams. Go ahead with your papers with a positive attitude, without any tension.”

“Each year, in 'Pariksha pe Charcha,' we talk about many things related to exams with our exam warriors. I am pleased that this event is becoming more institutionalized as new experts are joining in. This year, we have initiated a new pattern for 'Pariksha pe Charcha.' We have eight different episodes with experts. We discussed many things, from overall exam preparation to health care, mental wellness, and nutrition. Also, earlier toppers shared their experience and wisdom with all,” PM Modi emphasized. “Be happy and stress-free,” he stated.
