NEET PG 2024 Postponed due to uncertainty over the integrity of important exams; the Ministry of Health will inspect the examination process.
A precautionary measure was taken on Saturday when the Union Health Ministry rescheduled the June 23 National Eligibility cum Entrance Test postgraduate (NEET PG) 2024 examination. The National Board of Examinations (NBE) is in charge of the exam. Several aspirants vented concern on social media amid the continued disappointment over the most recent development.

Will NEET UG exam be conducted again?
Sunanda Pansari, a NEET PG aspirant, criticizes the government for making such a decision without taking into account the needs of the students. She said “This is extremely wrong. I have travelled 600 km to attend the exam. The exam was scheduled for March after which it for postponed to July. Later they postponed their exam and now they have postponed the exam again. We should have been informed at least 24 hours before. There is no information on the paper leak as of now.”
Dr Abbas Ali, an ortho surgeon stated “Some people are saying this #NEETPG delay gives you more time to read & revise, but there’s more to life than just exams. Lots of people have had to postpone important life events for this, and the delay seriously affects their Mental health. Don’t be so insensitive.”
Why is NEET PG 2024 Postponed?
Amidst the ongoing controversy surrounding some of the largest exams in the nation—the NEET UG for undergraduate medical admissions, the UGC NET for JRF, assistant professorship and PhD admissions, and the CSIR NET for JRF, assistant professorship and PhD admissions in Science subjects—the Ministry of Health has made the decision to review the way the NEET PG examination is administered.
On Saturday, the Union Health Ministry stated “This decision has been taken in the best interests of the students and to maintain the sanctity of the examination process… fresh dates will be announced at the earliest.”
The board has suspected fraudulent activities concerning the NEET PG exam such as question paper leakage in exchange of money. However, no such evidence has been found and approved yet. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan declared earlier this week that the UGC NET exam was cancelled after it was discovered that the material had been leaked on Darknet.
