The JEE Main 2025 Session 2 first paper will be conducted on April 2, 2025. The Paper 1 (B.E/B.Tech) will take place on April 2, 3, 4, and 7 in two shifts, the first from 9 AM to 12 PM and the second from 3 PM to 6 PM, according to the schedule. Refer to the following table to check out the complete JEE Main Session 2 exam timeline and events.

JEE Main 2025 Session 2: Guidelines

  • Report to the Examination Center 2 hours before the exam.
  • As soon as the hall opens, take a seat. Important instructions might be missed by those who arrive late.
  • To gain entry, show your authorized photo ID and admit card.
  • Take a seat in the designated area. The candidature may be canceled if this is not done.
  • Make sure the subject on your admit card corresponds with the question paper. Inform the invigilator of any inconsistencies.
  • For information, emergencies, or technical problems, ask the center superintendent or invigilator for help.
  • A candidate's candidature will be canceled if they appear on several dates or shifts with false information. NTA will not provide retests for exams that were missed.
  • Instruments, geometry boxes, handbags, stationery, food, water, phones, earbuds, calculators, cameras, electronic devices, and anything metallic are all prohibited.

JEE Main Session 2 Admit Card

The NTA has released the JEE Main Session 2 Admit Card 2025 on 28th March 2025. To download the admit card of JEE Mains 2025, candidates will have to visit the NTA JEE Mains official website jeemain.nta.nic.in and enter their application number and password. Can you take soft copy of JEE Main Admit Card?

The most common question asked by students is ‘Will NTA accept digital copy of the JEE Main 2025 admit card session 2?’. The answer to this question is ‘NO’. The candidates will have to carry the printed copy of their JEE Main 2025 session 2 admit card. Without it, they will not be allowed to enter the JEE Main 2025 exam centre. 

Along with the JEE Mains admit card for session 2, the candidates must also carry a valid photo ID proof. Candidates who do not possess these documents will not be allowed to enter the examination hall. The photo ID proofs they can bring to the examination hall are as follows:

  • PAN Card
  • Passport
  • Voter ID
  • Passport-size photographs (as per the instructions mentioned in the admit card).

JEE Main Session 2 Paper Analysis

How was the JEE Main Maths paper?

The paper had a strong focus on calculus, coordinate geometry, and algebra. Some students noted that Vector and 3D Geometry questions were present but not difficult. A few lengthy calculations in certain questions made time management crucial, but the overall difficulty was balanced and moderate. The Numerical Section had lengthy calculations.

JEE Main session 2 shift 2 exam starts at 3 p.m. Here is what to carry

  • Candidates with the JEE Main 2025 exam on April 2 in shift 2 must make sure to bring their JEE Main 2025 admit card. 
  • Candidates will need to show anyone of the following types of ID with the JEE Main 2025 admit card - a school ID, PAN card, driving license, voter ID, passport, Aadhaar card with your photo, E-Aadhaar with photo, ration card with a photo, Class XII board admit card with a photo, or a bank passbook with your photo. 
  • Additionally, candidates are needed to bring a passport-sized photo that matches the one they uploaded with their application. This is for the attendance sheet at the exam center. 
  • Candidates also have to fill out the Self Declaration (Undertaking) form, downloaded with the admit card, with complete details filled.

JEE Main Chemistry Paper shift 1 analysis

Organic Chemistry was given more weightage compared to Inorganic Chemistry in April 2 morning shift exam. Questions asked from GOC, amines, aldehyde and ketones, chemical bonding, electrochemistry, mole concept, coordination compounds, liquid solutions, atomic structure, chemical kinetics, alcohol, ether and phenol, biomolecules, aryl and alkyl halides. Numerical based had questions from physical chemistry.

How was the JEE Main Physics Paper?

In the physics paper in the morning shift today, more weightage was given to mechanics, electrostatics and current electricity. Chapters included kinematics, gravitation, rotational motion, SHM, laws of motion, magnetism, ray optics, modern physics, work power and energy, heat and thermodynamics. Numerical based questions were easy. Few fact-based questions from Class 12 chapters of NCERT were also asked.

2,50,000 top scorers eligible for JEE Advanced

To be eligible for the JEE Advanced 2025 exam, candidates must be among the top 2,50,000 successful candidates in the BE/BTech Paper of JEE (Main) 2025, across all categories. The actual number of candidates may be slightly higher than 2,50,000 if there are tied ranks or scores within any category. IIT Kanpur has also released the category-wise number of candidates who will be eligible for the JEE Advanced exam.
