Additionally, the notification includes a crucial change in the exam format. The optional questions in Section B of the JEE Main 2025 have been discontinued; connotation test takers must now answer all questions without any choices.
Is the JEE Main 2025 Exam Pattern Changed?
Yes, the JEE Main 2025 exam pattern has been revised. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has proclaimed that the optional question format introduced during the pandemic will be discontinued in Section B. Previously, applicants could attempt any 5 out of 10 numerical questions in Section B of each subject. But, starting from JEE Main 2025, all five numerical questions in Section B will be mandatory, just like in the pre-2021 format.
The overall structure remains the same, with three primary sections: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Each piece consists of 30 questions—20 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) in Section A and ten numerical questions in Section B. But, the new JEE Main Exam Pattern 2025 requires applicants to answer all numerical questions in Section B without any choice.

Along with JEE Main 2025 Notification, NTA has out the JEE Main 2025 Application Form for Session 1 on October 28, 2024. For the session 2, the application form will be available in the first week of February 2025. Applicants can fill out the form online through the official website, which is jeemain.nta.nic.in. Moreover, the application fee for JEE Main 2025 is INR 1,000 for unreserved category applicants and INR 800 for set aside category and female applicants.
