The Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) began its summer internship recruitment for the 2024-25 academic year on November 12, 2024. The recruitment process, designed for students in the Post Graduate Programme (PGP) and the Post Graduate Programme in Food and Agribusiness Management (PGP-FABM), uses a hybrid model allowing companies to interview candidates in-person or online to maximize accessibility for both students and companies.
Organized around a cluster-cohort system, the placement process groups companies with similar roles into cohorts invited to participate sequentially. Cluster 1 launched on November 12, with Cluster 2 and 3 scheduled for November 15 and 18, respectively. If necessary, IIMA will continue with a rolling recruitment process following the conclusion of Cluster 3.
To promote transparency, IIM Ahmedabad will publish results after each cluster on its website by approximately 10 p.m. on the respective dates, with a final report after Cluster 3. This approach aligns with the Indian Placement Reporting Standards (IPRS) adopted by IIMA in 2010, which the institute enforces to provide accurate placement data and prevent misinformation.
So far, 73 roles have been offered across various sectors, with companies such as Goldman Sachs, Accenture, and Citi among the top recruiters. The diversity of roles highlights the institution's commitment to connecting students with dynamic, high-quality internship opportunities. The placement committee actively facilitates these connections as the recruitment season continues, further strengthening IIMA's standing in management education.
Earlier, IIM Ahmedabad completed its 2023-24 Summer Internships for the PGP with a 100% placement rate. BCG led as the top recruiter, extending 22 offers, alongside other prominent firms like McKinsey, Bain & Company, Kearney, and Goldman Sachs. For the 2023-25 PGP batch, 124 companies participated, placing all 404 students. The Consulting sector was most popular, hiring 142 students, followed by Finance with 73, and Marketing with 48.
