BTech In Computer Science And Economics: IIT Delhi
IIT-Delhi has launched a BTech in Computer Science and Economics (CSEcon) to meet the rapidly increasing demand for professionals who can bridge the gap between technology, business, and economics.
It's one of the first of its kind and unique to offer a four-year program. It gives students an integrated BTech in Computer Science and Economics (CSEcon). This conveys that students are not only learning economic theories, but also using complex computational tools, which set them up for careers in finance, data analysis, business intelligence ,etc.

Core Training in 1 and 2 years
Strong focus on foundational subjects in Computer Science, Economics, and Mathematics. Introductory classes will provide students with key concepts and prepare them for advanced learning in the upper years. Students will learn basic topics, including how computers work, math and economics fundamentals.
Advanced Learning in 3 & 4 years
Interdisciplinary subjects such as:
- “Econometrics with Machine Learning” – Combining economics with data science to allow students to analyze economic trends using modern computational techniques.
- Examples of economics electives include “Behavioural Economics,” which uses the study of how people make financial decisions, and “Financial Economics,” which studies markets, investments and risks.
- Computer Science & Mathematics electives such as“Statistical Machine Learning”, where students learn how to build intelligent systems that can make predictions based on data.
Admissions and Fees
Students willing to apply can take admission through JEE Mains. The fee structure of the programme will be the same as the standard BTech programmes of the institute, and students will be able to avail all the same financial norms applicable to other courses of IIIT-Delhi.
