IIT Roorkee will be conducting the GATE 2025 exam on 15-16 February across various exam centers. IIT Roorkee specifies certain guidelines that the candidates must follow on the exam day. Candidates are requested to check these guidelines on the page below.
What is GATE exam?
The GATE exam is conducted for admission to the M. Tech and PhD courses offered by various IITs, IIITs, GFTIs, etc. The GATE answer key and the GATE result will be made public once the exam is concluded on 16 February (Sunday).

GATE exam 2025 test schedule
The GATE 2025 exam will be held in 2 shifts – Forenoon (9.30-12.30 p.m.) and Afternoon (2.30-5.30 p.m.). The GATE examination authorities have released the 2025 GATE exam schedule for different branches on the official GATE website. Refer to the below table to check the exam schedule.

How to Download the GATE Admit Card 2025?
The GATE admit card can be downloaded from the official website by following the below steps.
- Visit the GATE GOAPS portal – gate2025.iitr.ac.in
- Click on the admit card link/login option
- Enter your GATE enrollment ID and password
- Click on the option to download the admit card
- The hall ticket will be displayed on the screen
- Check all the details and download
GATE 2025 Exam Day Guidelines
Candidates appearing for the exam must follow all the GATE 2025 exam day instructions in the hall ticket, which are mentioned below.
- Candidates must carry a hard copy of the GATE admit card to the exam centre with a valid ID proof, such as an Aadhaar card/Voter ID/Passport, etc.
- Candidates must reach the GATE exam centre at least 90 minutes before the commencement of the exam.
- Electronic gadgets, such as mobile phones, calculators, smart watches, pagers, Bluetooth devices, etc., are prohibited inside the exam centre.
- Paper and food items, such as sheets, rough papers, snacks, etc., are prohibited in the exam hall.
- Candidates can carry their pen and pencil to the exam centre with a transparent water bottle.
- A scribble pad will be provided inside the exam hall to do the rough work. Candidates must write their registration number and name on the sheet before using it. The scribble pad must be returned to the invigilator after the completion of the exam.
- PwD candidates will get one hour of compensatory time to finish their examination.
