The application form of the CUET UG 2025 will be made available by the National Testing Agency soon. Candidates who wish to appear for the undergraduate entrance examination can fill up their registration on the official website. In the year, the Common University Entrance Test for under-graduate admissions will follow a revised pattern. This would be held by CUET-UG in entirely computer-based forms from 2025 and one could opt for any subject for the examination that he or she wants, leaving aside Class 12 subjects altogether. As revealed earlier by UGC Chairman, Jagadesh Kumar, these changes were a modification that had occurred after the changes were suggested by an expert committee appointed by UGC after scanning the exam's structure thoroughly. It assessed several elements, among them the number of papers, test duration, syllabus alignment, and logistical challenges; the UGC later approved the proposed changes.
In an interview with PTI, Kumar stated, "Starting in 2025, the exam will be conducted only in CBT (computer-based test) mode. While last year it was held in a hybrid format, transitioning entirely to CBT ensures a more reliable and secure examination process."
He further added, "The students appearing for CUET-UG will now have the chance to opt for subjects they didn't study in Class 12. This will enable them to pursue interdisciplinary opportunities that are available at the higher education level."
In its first edition in 2022, CUET-UG faced technical issues, as the scores had to be normalized since the examination was conducted over multiple shifts. In 2024, it was conducted in a hybrid mode for the first time but was cancelled overnight across Delhi due to logistical issues.
