Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has made major syllabus changes for ISC Class 11 and 12 students. The new syllabus will be applicable from the academic year 2025–26 and is designed to keep the students abreast of evolving academic needs and norms.
As per the official notification released by the council, the new syllabus will be implemented for Class 11 students starting the new session in 2025 and for Class 12 students who are going to appear for the ISC 2026 board exam. New syllabi have been posted on the CISCE's official website — cisce.org — under the 'Library (Publications)' section.
For Class 11, the revisions have been included in four core subjects: Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, and History. ISC Class 12 Syllabus has broader revisions in subjects like Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Commerce, Accounts, History, Geography, Political Science, Sociology, Psychology, and Legal Studies.
The council ensured that syllabi for all the other subjects would be the same for both the classes. Heads of schools were directed to give notice to the students, parents, and staff members regarding the changes so that preparation for the next school year can go smoothly and on schedule.
This comes on the heels of the successful holding of the 2026 board exams. ICSE (Class 10) exams were held from February 18 to March 27, 2025 and ISC (Class 12) exams were finished on April 5, 2025.
Candidates are requested to check the updated syllabus on the official website and prepare accordingly. With these changes, CISCE continues its endeavor to make education as modern, relevant, and academically sound as possible.
