The Class 12 Economics board examination 2025 was conducted on the 19th March, 2025. The paper was very well structured and incorporated all major elements and chapters mentioned in the syllabus. Teachers have noted that student’s conceptual knowledge and application abilities have been tested in this paper. A total of 42,00,237 students appeared for CBSE Class-10/12 exams in 2025. Among them, 24,12,072 are Class 10 students, while 17,88,165 are from Class 12. There were 7,842 examination centres for the exam.
There were two sections in the 80 marks paper, with an exam duration of three hours:
- Section A: Macro Economics
- Section B: Indian Economic Development

Based on early student feedback, the Class 12 Economics paper was rated as “moderately difficult”. Some students needed more time and effort to answer the theoretical questions, but the majority found them straightforward. While some people found parts of the paper more difficult, others who had studied and practiced various question types found the paper to be easy.

Teachers reported that the Class 12 Economics paper closely followed the CBSE 12th syllabus 2025. The exam successfully challenged students' conceptual knowledge, particularly in macro and microeconomics. The application-based and data interpretation sections required critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, whereas the theoretical questions were simple. All things considered, the paper was accurate, fair, and addressed all of the syllabus's important topics.
The paper of Class 12 Economics was conducted efficiently and it was up to the mark and all the important topics in the syllabus were well covered. Prepared students could manage the moderate difficulty level. Since numerical problems need precise calculations, students with a good conceptual grasp are certain to perform well. As per the blueprint, 20% of the questions were competency-based, testing students’ analytical and application skills. Overall, the paper was balanced and fair. According to Venkateson (PGT), an economics instructor at JAIN International Residential School (JIRS), Bengaluru, students who practiced sample papers and textbook exercises were well-prepared and could receive high grades.
