CBSE Board Exam 2025: Major Changes made in CBSE Class 10 and 12 Answer Sheet 2025

The CBSE is set to commence the CBSE Class 10 Board Exams 2025 and CBSE 12th Exams 2025 from tomorrow (15th February 2025). As students get ready for this important exam, the board has brought in several major updates in the CBSE Answer Sheet 2025 to avoid use of any unfair means and lessen the cheating instances and more unethical practices. Students taking the exams need to know the important changes to stay away from any confusion and experience an easygoing examination process.

Major Changes in CBSE Answer Sheet 2025 to Resist Cheating

In order to conduct the CBSE Board Exam 2025 with more transparency and lessen the chances of unethical practices, the CBSE has issued a few major changes in the answer sheets. These updates are made to increase exam security and develop an even more simplified procedure for both examinees and examiners. Following are the major changes:

Introduction of Unique QR Codes in CBSE Answer Sheets: To prevent cheating, CBSE has generated unique QR codes for all students answer sheets. This enables tracking and checking the legitimacy of the answer sheets and further avoid cheating practices in the exam.

Instructions on Question Number Placement: Students have been strongly instructed to write question numbers only within the margin of the CBSE  answer sheet. Question numbers can't be written anywhere else on the sheet. This step is taken so that all answer sheets are uniform and alike.

No Marking or Writing on the Question Paper: The board has clarified to students that they are restricted from writing or marking anything on the question paper. Any rough work is to be done with the margins (on the right-hand side of the page) of the answer sheet. If done anywhere else on the answer sheet the rough work will not be marked.

New Guidelines for Rough Work: After doing the rough work, students must cross it out. This is a change with respect to the previous guideline where students can do their rough work with the margin to make the answer sheet look organized and clean.

Strict Action Against Unfair Practices: CBSE has cautioned students against unfair practices as no tolerance will be shown. Students caught while cheating, using any electronic gadgets, or taking part in any other unethical practices will have to suffer serious consequences. According to the official notice, such students will have their exams cancelled instantly and will not be allowed to take the CBSE Board Exams for the following two years.

Exam Centers Equipped with Surveillance for Strict Monitoring

Moreover to maintain exam integrity, CBSE has set up CCTV cameras at all exam centers. In addition to this a live streaming system has also been installed at specific exam centers. These efforts have been brought in practice to lessen malpractices and keep the exam's credibility.
