IIM Ahmedabad is one of India's top business schools, has recently introduced a unique MBA program that doesn't require CAT scores. Getting into IIMA requires a high score on the CAT exam. The program at IIM Ahmedabad is designed to attract candidates with diverse backgrounds and experiences. While CAT scores are not a prerequisite, the admission process remains highly competitive.
IIM Ahmedabad BPGP Course
The BPGP MBA course at IIMA is a bit more flexible. CAT isn't mandatory for this programme. BPGP was launched in Jan 2024. It is a 2 year hybrid MBA program with live online classes and on-campus sessions. Designed for professionals with minimum 3 years of experience, it is mostly online with 5 on-campus modules. The program is case based and practical learning with 900 hours of instruction and project work across 36 credits. Each term has one week of on-campus module.
Admission Into BPGP course at IIMA
You can get admission to the BPGP MBA program at IIMA through the following exams.
- Online IIMA Admission Test (IAT) for Online MBA program OR
- Valid CAT score (taken within last 5 years as of May 1, 2024) OR
- Valid GMAT/GRE score (taken within last 5 years as of May 1, 2024) OR
- GMAT Focus Edition score
Shortlisted candidates will be called for a personal interview.
IIMA Admission Test
IIMA Admision Test (IAT) is an online test for candidates without standard test scores like CAT, GMAT, GRE. IAT will be a 90 minute test with 45 questions divided into three sections:
- Quantitative Aptitude
- Analytical Reasoning
- Verbal Aptitude
GMAT
GMAT is a standard test to assess a candidate’s quantitative and verbal reasoning for admission to graduate business schools.
GMAT has four main sections: Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, Integrated Reasoning and Analytical Writing Assessment. It has 80 questions.
GMAT Focus
GMAT Focus Edition is a new version of GMAT. It is a more focused and efficient test, concentrating on the skills required to succeed in business school.
GMAT Focus Edition has three sections: Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, Integrated Reasoning, and the Analytical Writing Assessment. It has 64 questions.
GRE
Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is a globally recognized entrance exam used for admissions to graduate programs, especially in the US. It tests verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning and analytical writing.
