In a series of petitions challenging the CLAT UG 2025 exam results, the Delhi High Court has postponed giving its verdict. The High Court is expected to make its decision regarding the CLAT 2025 Exam today April 16, 2025. The date for the hearing of appeals related to the CLAT PG 2025 results is set for April 21, 2025.
Concerning the alleged CLAT 2025 question papers and addressing significant flaws, a division bench consisting of Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela heard the petitions related to undergraduates on April 9. The bench made it clear that it intended to wrap up the case as soon as possible, especially considering how urgent undergraduate admissions are. The court stated that a separate hearing would be held to discuss matters related to the postgraduate examination.
To avoid such disparities, the court has already advised the Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) to designate "better paper setters in the future." Results of the December 1 CLAT 2025 exam were released on December 7.
The bench stated during the hearing that at least one of the UG paper's questions had to be dropped. The Consortium's senior advocate Rajshekhar Rao also recommended dropping that specific question because of its poor structure. One of the controversial things was a logical reasoning challenge concerning homeless people, which caused disagreements among specialists in the field.
The Consortium and the candidates both challenged a previous Delhi High Court decision. The Consortium claimed that the expert-prepared answer key should not have been interfered with by the single-judge bench. A division bench, however, refused to offer temporary relief or to stay the single-judge decision. It instructed the Consortium to modify and release the CLAT results to comply with the decision, establishing no prima facie error.
CLAT Exam 2025: Merit List Updates
The names and ranks of the candidates shortlisted for the counseling and seat allocation process will be included in the CLAT 2025 merit list, which will be released by the Consortium of NLUs. The Consortium will also release the formal invitation list for counseling participation after a decision is made regarding whether or not the findings should be revised.
