GATE Score Card 2025 - The GATE 2025 scorecard date has been released on the GATE website i.e. gate2025.iitr.ac.in. In order to download the score card GATE 2025 exam, they will have to enter their enrollment id/email address and password. The GATE score card 2025 download link will be available from March 28, 2025, and candidates who took the GATE 2025 exam will be able to access it after its release. The last date to download the GATE score card 2025 without any charges is May 31, 2025.
In case, a candidate fails to download the GATE score card in the stipulated time, they will have to pay an extra fee for every GATE paper scorecard. They can download it from June 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025. They will have to make the payment of INR 500 for each GATE paper.
The GATE score card 2025 will consist of details such as candidates' marks, All India Rank (GATE AIR), GATE qualifying marks, etc. Candidates must keep the GATE score card safe as it will be required at the time of M.Tech admission through GATE exam. Once the GATE scorecard 2025 is released on the official website of GOAPS online portal - goaps.iitr.ac.in, candidates who appeared in the exam can download their respective GATE score card PDF. They must follow the steps mentioned below to download the score card.
- Visit the GOAPS online official website - goaps.iitr.ac.in.
- Navigate to and click on the ‘GATE score card 2025 PDF download link’.
- Enter your enrollment ID/ email address and password to log in.
- The screen will display the GATE 2025 score card.
- Download and take a printout of it.

Importance of the GATE Scorecard
The GATE scorecard is an important document that candidates must present at the time of GATE counselling and M. Tech admissions through GATE 2025 exam. Admission to esteemed institutions such as IIITs, IISc, IITs and NITs requires a GATE scorecard. PSU recruitment also requires the document to be submitted for hassle free process.
Candidates who fail to present the GATE scorecard, when required, will not be allowed to participate in any of the GATE counselling or PSU recruitment process.
How GATE Score is Calculated?
Candidates who take the GATE exam are often curious to know how the GATE scores are calculated. The GATE marks are calculated out of 100 marks whereas the GATE scores are calculated out of 1000. Candidates must also know that the GATE score is the performance indicator on a scale of 1000. In order to calculate the GATE score, the respective IITs use a GATE score calculator formula to convert the marks obtained to 1000.
However, as some of the GATE papers 2025 were conducted in multiple sessions, one single formula cannot be used to calculate the score for all the students.
First of all, a formula is used to calculate the normalized marks from the marks obtained by candidates in GATE exam of multiple session papers. This normalized marks will be equivalent to the marks obtained in single session GATE papers. After this, a second formula is used to calculate the exact GATE score 2025 which is mentioned in the GATE score card.
GATE Score Validity for PSU Recruitment
The validity of the GATE score or GATE score card for PSU recruitment varies as per the specific specialization, vacancies, and category of candidates. PSU authorities employ GATE scores to assess candidates' suitability for their recruitment processes. While some of the PSUs consider GATE scores from the current year, the other PSUs might consider the scores from previous years.
Generally, the validity of GATE score card for PSU recruitment is only 1 year. As per the previous year trends, candidates with All India Ranks (AIR) below 150 are often considered eligible for PSU recruitment, given the competitive nature of the selection process.
