Chandigarh University (CU) has once again proved its excellence by winning the overall trophy at the 38th AIU Inter-University North Zone Youth Festival 2025. Organized by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), the festival was held at Panjab University, Chandigarh. This win will get Chandigarh University into the AIU National Youth Festival 2025, which will be held from March 3 to March 7. This is the fourth consecutive time that CU has won the North Zone AIU Trophy, further solidifying its position in the competition.
Chandigarh University shines at overall championship contest with 26 trophies
Entering in a total of 962-strong participation by students from 21 universities in the North Zone, Chandigarh University put together a 49-member contingent for events in music, theatre, fine arts, literature, and dance. CU emerged as the champion of all four categories with 26 wins in the overall championship, including 8 First-place victories, 5 Second-place triumphs, and 7 Third-place wins in the tournaments.
Category-wise achievements:
- Theatre, Dance, and Literature: Awarded first position.
- Music: Secured 2nd position
- Fine Arts and Procession: Succeeded to attain 3rd position
Continued the success in Theatre & Performing Arts by CU
Chandigarh University has continued to be a consistent top performing university at the prestigious AIU Youth Festival. More specifically, CU has won the overall championship in Theatre for the sixth consecutive time. The One-Act Play category has been secured by CU for the eighth consecutive time in the North Zone AIU Championships.
The 2025 Overall Trophy was accepted by the CU students themselves, together with Jai Inder Singh Sandhu (Managing Director, Chandigarh University) and Dr. Devinder Singh (Pro-Vice Chancellor), during the award ceremony at Panjab University, Chandigarh.
