Chandigarh University, Uttar Pradesh, recently hosted the AI Higher Education Summit 2025, a groundbreaking event that aimed to transform the educational landscape through artificial intelligence. The summit focused on “From Classroom to Cloud: Pioneering the AI Future,” which united policymakers, educators, industry leaders, and students to explore AI’s revolutionizing potential in changing and shaping the future of learning and career development.

AI in India’s Future: A forward-thinking strategy

The summit started with an influential keynote address by the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Brajesh Pathak, who emphasized India’s rising position as a global leader in AI. India is ready to take over the world in AI adoption, with an investment of $1.25 billion, attracting investments from tech giants such as Google, Microsoft, and Amazon. Pathak also highlighted how AI’s use is not just limited to content creation, but also exploring industries like logistics, manufacturing, and surveillance.

The Deputy Chief Minister also revealed plans for India’s first AI city in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The city is expected to generate over 50,000 AI-related jobs in the upcoming five years. He also estimated that AI would contribute up to $1.5 trillion to India’s GDP by 2030.

Chandigarh University’s Role in AI Education

Chancellor Satnam Singh Sandhu described how Chandigarh University, Uttar Pradesh, is all set to play a crucial role in this AI revolution. The university is committed to offering AI-driven multidisciplinary education to prepare students for their future careers in a tech-savvy world. Sandhu also addressed AI’s economic impact, predicting that the AI sector will generate billions of dollars and millions of jobs in the coming years.

A Remarkable Assembly of Leaders

The event was honored by the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Shri Brajesh Pathak, who joined as the Chief Guest. Other than him,Mr. Vivek Agrawal (MD, Accenture Pvt. Ltd.), Shri M.P. Agrawal (IAS, Principal Secretary, Higher Education Department, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh), Shri. Abhishek Parkash (IAS, CEO, Invest UP, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh), and Shri. Ravi Ranjan (IAS, Managing Director, U.P. Electronics Corporation Limited, Govt. of Uttar Pradesh) joined us as the Guest of Honor. 

Panel Discussions

The summit hosted three influential panel discussions, each addressing key challenges and opportunities in AI-driven education.

  1. “Flipping the Paradigm: How Education Can Lead the AI Evolution” - This panel included experts like Dr. G.C Tripathi, Mr. Vivek Agrawal, Mr. Suvarnanidhi Rao, Mr. Jeetendra Kumar Singh, and Prof. Prakash Singh. They talked about how AI can encourage creativity, critical thinking, and digital fluency among students. The panel also emphasized the importance and need of AI-powered tools that enable smoother transitions to higher education and interdisciplinary learning.
  2. “The Global Perspective: Integrating AI into Academia and Curriculum” - Experts including Ms. Lata Singh, Prof. Seema Paroha, Dr. Arun Mohan Sherry, Mr. Pankaj Mishra, and Dr. Pushpendra Kumar Tripathi, participated in a panel titled “The Global Perspective: Integrating AI into Academia and Curriculum”. The panel discussed the significance of industry partnerships and policy frameworks in promoting the use of AI in education. The panelists emphasized the importance of academic institutions to align their curriculum with the latest industry trends and create AI-focused learning opportunities.
  3. “Bridging the Gap: Building A Talent Pipeline Driven by Policy, Industry, and Academia” - Experts including Dr. GK Goswami, Prof. Shiv Kumar Dwivedi, Pramod Kumar Jha, Dr. Manoj Rana, and Dr. Nagendra Yadav participated in a panel discussion titled “Bridging the Gap: Building A Talent Pipeline Driven by Policy, Industry, and Academia”. The discussion emphasized that India's education system needs to be aligned with global trends. The panelists explored the transformative potential of AI in teaching, research, and assessments. They also highlighted the necessity of cross-disciplinary learning, international collaborations, and personalized education to drive curriculum innovation.

The AI Higher Education Summit 2025 not only emphasized AI’s potential but also made it clear that the future of education is AI-driven.
