WBJEE Eligibility Criteria: Important Points for Domicile

Candidates must remember the following points when it comes to the domicile requirements.

Who is eligible for the WBJEE exam?

General category candidates should have scored an aggregate of 45% in the three compulsory subjects in the 10+2th (or equivalent) examination. Is 75 percent required for WBJEE?

A minimum of 45% in Class 12th or equivalent qualification examination is mandatory to be eligible for WBJEE 2025. Failing to fulfil the required eligibility will raise the chances of cancellation of your candidature at any stage of WBJEE 2025 admission process.

Can PCB students give WBJEE?

Can I do B Tech without WBJEE?

Yes, you can pursue B. Tech through national exams like JEE Main or through institute-specific entrance exams conducted by some universities.

Is 75% criteria removed from JEE?

No, the 75% eligibility criteria have not been removed for JEE Main 2025 for General category students. Candidates belonging to the general category have to obtain 75% marks in class 12 for admission to NITs, IIITs and GFTIs. However, candidates must note that they do not require 75% marks to appear for JEE Mains 2025.

Is WBJEE tough?

In terms of difficulty level, the WBJEE syllabus can be considered to be moderate to tough. The syllabus will be similar to the topics and units studied for the 11th and 12th standard examinations. The main subjects in the WBJEE syllabus are Physics Chemistry and Mathematics.

How many attempts are allowed for WBJEE?

WBJEE is held as a one-day examination. The authorities conduct WBJEE annually to select candidates for BTech admissions into the participating institutes. The entrance examination is held once in a year and the candidates will not be given a second chance in the same year. If the candidates are not able to apply for WBJEE or have not secured the required scores, then they can apply for the entrance examination next year. The authorities will not accept any requests for change of WBJEE exam dates.
