The Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE) will soon begin TNEA 2025 registration. The TNEA 2025 application form will be released on the official website i.e. tneaonline.org. Candidates can visit the official website and check the TNEA application form date after the official release.
The application process of TNEA 2025 will consist of several steps namely registration, application form filling, uploading of documents, and paying the TNEA registration fees. The TNEA 225 application form the candidates must log in on the official website. Once logged in they will have to enter the TNEA login credentials to proceed to fill the application form. These TNEA login credentials are application number and password. Details must note that the admission to the participating institute will entirely be based on the TNEA 2020 5 cutoff. In order to apply for Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions, the candidates must check if they stand eligible. They must go through the TNEA eligibility criteria 2025. The candidates who stand eligible must complete the TNEA 2025 registration before the TNEA registration 2025 last date.

TNEA Eligibility 2025
Candidates willing to appear in the TNEA counselling 2025 process must check the TNEA eligibility criteria 2025 before applying. Please refer to the table below to check the TNEA 2025 eligibility criteria defined as per the TNEA authority.
Nationality - Only candidates with Indian nationality can apply for TNEA counselling 2025.
Nativity - Candidates of the following nativity can apply for TNEA counselling 2025.
Tamil Native Candidates | Tamil Nadu candidates who have passed class 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 from any school in Tamil Nadu will be eligible to apply for TNEA. They need not produce a Nativity Certificate for verification. |
The native candidates of Tamil Nadu who have passed any of the classes 8, 9, 10, 11, and 12 or any equivalent examination from schools situated outside Tamil Nadu are also eligible to apply. They must produce an Original Nativity Certificate at the time of admission. The certificate must be submitted only in electronic form/digitally signed e-Certificate. | |
Children of All India Service Tamil Nadu cadre officers can apply. A Self-declaration form from the parent in this regard is to be submitted. | |
Non-Tamil Candidates | Children of Central Government Employees can also apply for admission, irrespective of their native, provided their parents or guardians (only if both parents are not alive) have been serving in Tamil Nadu for the past 5 years at the time of submission of application. They must also submit a certificate from the employer of the parent or guardian, to that effect. |
Children of employees in the Public Sector or Government recognised Institutions who at the time of submission of application for admission employed in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past five years may also apply irrespective of their domicile. A certificate from the employer stating that the person is a Permanent Employee of the Firm or Institution concerned with evidence like Income Tax return, PF Slips, etc. and has been working in Tamil Nadu continuously for the past FIVE YEARS has to be produced. | |

Overseas Citizen of India Candidates | Candidates of Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders/Persons of Indian Origin(PIO) cardholders and Native of Tamil Nadu are permitted to participate in the Tamilnadu Engineering Counselling under the “Open Category”. This will not apply to the candidates of overseas citizen of India (OCI) cardholders/Persons of Indian Origin(PIO) cardholders who are born in a foreign country after 04.03.2021. |
Qualifying Examinations and Eligibility: A pass in the HSC (Academic: both +1 and +2) or its equivalent with a minimum average percentage is given below:

How to Fill TNEA Application Form 2025?
TNEA registration 2025 consists of 4 simple steps namely Registration, Filling out of TNEA application form, payment of TNEA registration fee, and submitting the duly filled application form.
Step 1 - TNEA Registration 2025
To register for the TNEA counselling 2025, the candidates will have to enter their personal details such as name, email id, date of birth, mobile number, gender, etc. They will have to generate a password to proceed to fill the TNEA application form. They will also receive an OTP on the mobile number registered by them. The candidates can click on the ‘Register’ button after the TNEA registration process is completed. The candidates will be receiving their User ID on the registered mobile number.
Below mentioned are the steps that candidates must consider while filling the TNEA application form.
- The name entered by candidates should match with their class 10th and 12th Marksheets.
- The candidates will have to enter their email ID for generating the User ID.
- In case, the candidates do not have an email address then they must create one and enter the same for the user ID.
- In case they are not in a position to create a new ID, they can use that of their parents'. The candidates must note that this email id will be treated as the primary contact for all the communications regarding the TNEA counseling 2025.
- They must enter a valid mobile number since this will be treated as the registered mobile number.
- The password created by candidates must contain at least eight characters in which there should be at least one capital, one numerical and one special character.
- The details entered by candidates will not be modified later, hence the details must be entered correctly before confirming the registration.
- Candidates must take a note of their user id and password because this will be used during the process of application form, payment of registration fee, choice entry and allotment of seat.
Step 2 - Filling out of TNEA Application Form 2025
The next step to TNEA registration is to fill the TNEA application form. The candidates must log in to the online portal of TNEA with the help of allotted user ID. They must create a password as per the instructions mentioned above and log in to their account. They can proceed to fill out the TNEA application form by entering personal details such as nationality, gender, parents’ name, address and a valid ID proof. If any, they can also provide the Special Reservation information. The Special Reservation Category includes students from sports reservation, ex-servicemen categories and differently abled reservations.

Step 3 - Payment of TNEA Registration Fees 2025
In this step, the registered candidates must process the payment of TNEA registration 2025. The payment can be made through online mode only. Students can make the payment through Debit card/ Credit card/ NET banking.
Candidates belonging to general category must make the payment of INR 500 as TNEA registration fee.
Candidates belonging to the SC/ST/SCA category and belonging to Tamil Nadu must pay INR 250 as TNEA 2025 registration fee.
Students from special reservation category must pay INR 100 as TNEA application fee.
Step 4 - Submit the TNEA Application Form
This is the last step to the TNEA registration process. Before submitting the TNEA application form, the candidates must go through all the details mentioned by them. They must make sure that all the details mentioned in the form are correct as any incorrect detail will lead to cancellation of their candidature.
After reviewing the duly filled form, they can save the form by clicking on the ‘Submit’ button.
After all the steps are successfully completed, the candidates must download the online form and take a printout of it for future reference.

How to Retrieve TNEA 2025 Login Credentials?
If any candidate forgets their TNEA login credentials, they can retrieve the same by following the steps mentioned below:
- Visit the TNEA official website - tneaonline.org.
- Navigate to and click on “Forgot Password”.
- Enter your registered mobile number, date of birth, and the verification shown on the screen.
- Click on the ‘Submit’ button.
- Candidates will receive a link to set a new password on their registered email address.
- Click on the link and reset the password.
