NMAT Exam Analysis helps students understand the pattern of the question paper and the type of questions asked in the examination. Previous years' question papers were stuck to a predictable pattern and there were no changes made in the pattern. It helped students gather motivation and appear in the examination with confidence.

NMAT 2020 Examination is scheduled to be conducted from 4th November 2020 to 30th January 2021 and the registration window closes on 20th November 2020

Paper Analysis of NMAT 2019

Students who appeared in NMAT 2019 did not witness any huge changes in NMAT Exam Pattern. The question paper fulfilled students' expectations of difficulty level. The questions were moderately difficult, and the questions asked in the examination were predicted.

Analysis of Logical Reasoning Section

This section is assumed as one of the easy topics and it helps students score well throughout the examination. Though the questions are of easy-moderate type, solving them becomes a tough nut to crack.

The section comprises of 40 questions with the allotted time of 22 minutes.

Analytical and Logical Reasoning

There were total 25 questions asked from Analytical and Logical Reasoning Area, and the questions asked in the section were comparatively predictable. A brief summary of what type of questions were asked during the examination is given below:

  • There were two LR sets that were of easy level.
  • Questions based on machine input and output.
  • Questions based on Blood Relation.
  • Coding and Decoding Questions.

Verbal Logic

There were 15 question asked from this area out of which seven questions came under critical reasoning type.

  • Two decision making paragraphs

Analysis of Quantitative Skills Section

The section comprises of 48 questions and while we look into the pattern of NMAT 2019, the questions were of easy-moderate level. There were more questions from Arithmetic and lesser from the other parts.

One other topic named Number Systems made it clearly difficult by just being present in the question paper.

  • Data Sufficiency comprised of questions mainly from Number System, Profit and Loss, and Average.
  • Time and Work questions were easy.
  • Arithmetic Progression questions consumed more time than the expected.
  • 5 Data Interpretation Sets included Pie Chart, Line Graph, Mixed Graphs, and Tables.

Analysis of Language Skills Section

The Language Skills Section comprises of 32 questions in total and it analyzes candidates' knowledge of English language. Its tests their knowledge of English Grammar, Understanding of usage of punctuation, and Vocabulary.

Reading Comprehension portion analyzes students' ability to read the entire passage in the given time and infer the hidden meaning of it.

  • The questions asked in this section were of moderately difficult level.
  • The no. of analogy questions increased from 1 to 4 as compared to that of NMAT 2018.
  • Two Reading Comprehensions somehow made it difficult to complete the section in allotted time due to their lengthy paragraphs.
  • One of the passages was based on cloud computing and the other was about Dinosaurs.
  • Four para jumbled questions showed easy level of difficulty.
  • The remaining other questions were based on English Grammar.
