The Maharashtra CET Cell began the MHT CET 2025 Registration on December 30 and the registrations are currently in process. What is the MHT CET Exam?

The full form of MHT CET is the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) and it is a state-level entrance examination conducted for admission to B.E./, B. Tech, B. Pharm programs offered by several Government and Private institutions across the state of Maharashtra. MHT CET is conducted once a year and candidates belonging to the other states can also apply for the exam.

The Maharashtra State Government has formulated fresh regulations for the admission process of B. Tech and other professional degree programs starting from the academic session of 2024-25. MHT CET Eligibility Criteria

For Maharashtra State Candidates

Candidates must have passed class 12/appearing in class 12 in 2024

Candidate must obtain at least 45% marks in class 12. Candidates belonging to the backward class, Economically Weaker Section, and Persons with Disability category should obtain at least 40 % marks in class 12

Non-Maharashtra Candidates

Candidates who are not from Maharashtra are also eligible to appear in MHT CET. Non-Maharashtra candidates also have the option of applying for BTech admission through JEE Main.

MHT CET reservation policies do not apply to candidates not belonging to Maharashtra.

OCI/PIO/NRI Candidates

OCI/PIO and NRI candidates are exempted from appearing in MHT CET. Such candidates can apply for admission based on class 12/equivalent exams. Separate counselling for OCI/PIO/NRI candidates is held separately after the admission process of MHT CET.

MHT CET Exam Pattern 2025

MHT CET Question Papers consist of a total of 150 and 200 questions for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, and Physics, Chemistry, and Biology group candidates respectively. The Exam Pattern offers 20% weightage to the 11th class curriculum and the remaining 80% to 12th class curriculum. The total time duration of the paper is 90 minutes.
