The exam pattern for the MCA CET exam is released online on the official website by the Maharashtra State CET Cell. MAH MCA CET exam pattern gives detailed information on the CET marking scheme, sections covered, and the number of questions in the exam paper. Before the students commence the preparation for the exam, they must carefully study the MAH MCA CET exam pattern.

The CET exam is made up of four major sections, namely - Mathematics and statistics, Logical/ Abstract Reasoning, English comprehension and verbal ability and Computer Concepts with 100 multiple-choice questions. The exam pattern is expected to remain same as of last year with no new changes being introduced. The paper consists of 100 MCQ questions to be answered in 90 minutes. The paper is of 200 marks.

For each correct answer the candidates are awarded 2 marks while no marks are given for unattempted or incorrect answers. Therefore, the candidates are advised to attempt all the questions to increase their chances of getting a high score. MAH MCA CET Exam Pattern - Important Instructions

While appearing for the CET online test candidates must keep in mind a few important instructions. The instructions have been stated below.

Login

  • On the computer allotted to the candidate, the candidate’s details (Name, photograph, etc.)are going to be displayed on the screen.
  • At the scheduled time (generally 10 minutes before the exam), candidates are going to be required to enter Username and Password as instructed in Admit Card.
  • After entering the username and Password click on “Sign In” button.

Reading Instructions

  • Read instructions carefully as they provide the entire exam related information including the number of questions and marking scheme.
  • Click on “I am ready to begin” button. The test is going to start at the scheduled time only.
  • Timer count starts when candidates click the button “I am ready to begin”.

Test Taking Process

  • Question number in the Question Palette at the right of the screen can be clicked to go to that numbered question directly.
  • You have to select any answer out of the given four options, by clicking on the circle button in front of the option.
  • To change the already chosen answer, click the circle button of another option. In order to cancel the answer, click on “Clear Response” button.
  • To save your answer, it is mandatory to click on the Save & Next button, otherwise answer is not going to be saved.
  • To mark the question for review, click on the Mark for Review & Next button. In case, a question is answered and marked for Review that answer is going to be considered in the evaluation.
  • Submit button is going to not be available until the completion of the exam time. Candidates are not required to click the submit button as the system is going to automatically submit the test after Exam Closure time.
  • Thereafter, exam summary is going to be displayed on the screen with Subject Name, Number of questions answered, Number of questions unanswered, marked for review, and not visited.
  • Then you have to confirm by clicking ‘Yes’ button.

Timer

  • The countdown timer starts ticking after you click the button “I am ready to begin”.
  • Candidates can refer to the timer to get an idea of the time left in completion of the test.

The difficulty level of the CET exam is usually considered between easy to moderate. But the candidates should be well prepared for the exam. Below mentioned are a few tips to prepare for the upcoming MAH MCA CET exam.

  • Check and understand the MCA CET Syllabus first
  • Make short notes and flashcards to remember the facts and figures with ease
  • Refer to good books and study material
  • Devote at least 5-6 hours on daily basis to prepare for the exam
  • Revise regularly so that you do not forget what you learnt the previous day
  • Take mock tests and solve as many sample papers as possible
  • Solve the previous year question papers to understand the questions being asked in the exam and understand the subjects with maximum weightage

What type of questions are asked in MAH MCA CET?

The MAH MCA CET paper will have Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQs). Each question will have 4 options with only one correct answer. Candidate have to select the correct answer from the available options.

In how many languages MAH MCA CET exam will be conducted?

Maharashtra CET Cell conducts MAH MCA CET only in English language. Candidates can attempt any question at any point of time within these 1.5 hours (90 minutes). All the questions will have multiple choices. Out of the four answers to a question only one will be the correct answer. You have to select the most appropriate answer and ‘mouse click’ that alternative which you feel is appropriate/correct. The alternative/ option that you have clicked on will be treated as your answer to that question. There is no negative marking System for this test. Unanswered questions will carry zero marks. Candidates are advised, not to mark answers by random guessing.
