Prospectus 2025

What is the KEAM Exam?

The Kerala Engineering, Architecture, and Medical Entrance Exam (KEAM) is a state-level exam administered by the Commissioner of Entrance Examination (CEE) for admission to engineering colleges in Kerala (self-financed, government, and private). Admission to architecture and medical courses is based on NATA and NEET scores, respectively.

There are 2 processes under KEAM. Candidates aspiring to get admission into B. Tech and B. Pharm courses have to apply and appear for the KEAM Exam followed by the KEAM Counseling Process, whereas candidates aspiring to get admission into the other courses like Agriculture, Fisheries, Medical, Forestry, Architecture, and Veterinary directly appear at the time of counseling process with their applicable entrance exam scores in NEET or NATA for admission to the participating colleges.

New Changes in the KEAM Exam

A few new and significant changes were incorporated into the KEAM 2025 Exam. Candidates are requested to carefully review these changes before applying. Candidates are also advised to carefully read the information brochure that is released on the official website to stay updated with the latest changes in the KEAM Exam.

  • The most significant change incorporated is that, this year the exam will be held as an online computer-based test, unlike last year
  • The exam will be conducted in 2 phases each day since it is difficult to set up almost 1.2 lakh computer terminals at once
  • The process of score normalization will be followed for the Engineering & Pharmacy courses
  • Candidates will be able to practice mock tests at the exam center itself by visiting the center 15 minutes earlier than the actual exam time
  • The post-exam procedure i.e., the release of the answer key and result declaration will take less time. The reason for this is that it is difficult to review a large number of OMR sheets within 4-5 days, and it used to take almost two to three weeks for result declaration. Since the exam is now a computer-based test, the calculation of scores will be accomplished faster and in the shortest possible time
