JEE Advanced Latest Updates: IIT Madras has recently released the JEE Advanced Information brochure in Hindi and English, and the Candidates are requested to check the official information brochure for JEE Advanced on the official website to not miss any important updates.

IIT Madras will commence the JEE Advanced Registration 2024 from 21 April 2024 (10 AM) for Indian Nationals and 15 April 2024 (10 a.m.) for foreign nationals on its official website i.e. jeeadv.ac.in. The JEE Advanced Application Window will remain open till 30th April 2024 (5 PM). The top 2,50,00 rank holders of JEE Main 2024 across all the categories will stand eligible to apply for JEE Advanced. Candidates registering themselves for the exam must fill JEE Advanced Application Form 2024 on or before (preferably before) 30th April 2024  in order to avoid any hassle while filling up the application form.

JEE Advanced - Brief Overview

JEE Advanced is the second stage for all the IIT Aspirants. To be eligible for the Indian Institutes of Technology across India, JEE Advanced Exam serves as the sole criterion and the aspirant must qualify both the exams under JEE Advanced to get into an IIT. By clearing JEE Mains, the aspirants can get admission to the best IITs in India and pursue courses like B.Tech, B.E and other dual and integrated courses as offered by the universities/colleges individually.

IIT Madras will release JEE Advanced Admit Card on 17th May 2024.

The JEE Advanced Exam is scheduled for 26th May 2024, and only the top 2.5 Lakhs aspirants are eligible to appear for this IIT Exam. JEE Advanced 2024 Registration

JEE Advanced Registration 2024 will begin from 21 April 2024 (10 AM) by IIT Madras. Candidates belonging to foreign countries will not be required to appear in the JEE Main and they can directly register themselves for the JEE Advanced Exam. Candidates must ensure that their JEE Advanced 2024 Application Form is correctly and completely filled as incomplete and incorrectly filled forms will be rejected by the examination conducting authorities.

How to Fill JEE Advanced Registration Form?

Step 1 - JEE Advanced Registration

The registration procedure is the first step that students must take in order to successfully register themselves for the exam. Please follow the instructions mentioned below for JEE Advanced Application Form filling:

  • Visit the official website of JEE Advanced.
  • Enter your JEE Main Roll Number/ JEE Main Application Number and Password. 
  • Enter a new password to proceed.
  • A new page will appear containing personal and academic details of candidates.
  • Enter basic details such as Language of the Question Paper (English/Hindi), Preferred City for Exam, etc. 
  • Enter 6 preferred cities as per your convenience where you would like to take the exam.
  • Save these steps and move to the next step.

Step 2 - Upload Required Documents

Candidates must keep their documents ready while they begin filling the JEE Advanced 2024 Application Form. Once they completely fill the form correctly, they should move further to upload the required documents as per the already mentioned specifications.

Step 3 - Payment of JEE (Advanced) 2024 Registration Fee

After the uploading of documents, candidates can move to the next step which is processing the payment of application fees. Candidates must notice that JEE Advanced Registration Fee is neither refundable nor transferable. Process the payment of registration fee and take a printout of the receipt and the duly filled application form for future reference. Note that JEE Advanced Application Form cannot be withdrawn once filled.

Step 4 - Take a Printout of Confirmation Page

After filling the Application Form of JEE Advanced, uploading the required documents, and processing the payment of Registration Fee of JEE Advanced, candidates must submit the duly filled application form and save the confirmation page for future reference.

Payment of JEE Advanced Registration Fee

Below mentioned are the various payment modes for JEE Advanced Application Fee:

Payment by SBI Debit Card/ Internet Banking

  • When proceeding to make the payment of registration fee, click on the option “Pay Registration Fee”. The system will redirect to the State Bank Multi Option Payment System (MOPS) page. 
  • Then candidates can select any of the displayed options such as SBI Debit Card or Internet Banking. After the payment is done successfully, candidates can take a printout of the completed registration details page with Unique Registration Number. 

Payment by Cash via SBI Branch Option

  • Candidates going for Cash payment must select ‘SBI Branch'. Doing this will generate a bank challan automatically. Take a printout of the challan and process the payment of registration fee in cash at any SBI Bank branch.

How to Pay JEE Advanced Registration Fee?

Processing the payment of JEE Advanced Registration Fee can be done in both online and offline modes. Below are the steps one should follow for online as well as offline payment methods:

Online Mode of Payment

  • Payment of Registration Fee has to be done while filling JEE Advanced Application Form 2024.
  • Click on the”Pay Registration Fee” link.
  • A new page will appear where you can select the payment mode i.e. Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking/UPI or Wallet.
  • After the payment is successfully made, URN will generate. Take a printout of the same and save it for future reference.

Offline Mode of Payment

  • While opting for offline mode, candidates must select the payment mode on JEE Advanced Application Form 2024 as “SBI Branch”.
  • This will generate an e-challan that students can later use to pay the fee in cash at any branch of SBI Bank.
  • After making the mandatory payment in cash, enter the transaction details.
  • The URN will be generated after the verification is done.
  • Save these details for future reference.

Payment of Exam Centers Outside India (SAARC/Non-SAARC/Indian Nationals)

  • Candidates will have to process the fee through International Debit or Credit Card issued by Foreign Banks and issued outside India.
  • No cash payment can be made.
  • Indian Cards will not be accepted.

What if you accidentally Close your Browser while Filling the JEE Advanced 2024 application Form?

  • In that case, candidates will always find an option to click on the SAVE button in the JEE Advanced Application Form 2024 to save the details filled in by them. Besides, they can even start where they left using JEE Advanced Login Credentials on the official website. Candidates will be required to enter their JEE Main 2024 Application Number and Password. They must also enter a security pin. 
  • Below are the reasons why JEE Advanced Login Credentials are important::
  • Fill the application form.
  • To download JEE Advanced 2024 Admit Card
  • To print the confirmation page.
  • To check and download the result and scorecard.

Documents Required for JEE Advanced Registration 2024

There are a few documents required to be submitted at the time of Registration of JEE Advanced. These documents are to be uploaded at the time of filling JEE Advanced Application Form.

Below mentioned is the list of documents that candidates must submit:

  • Gazette notification showing the change of name (in case name different on 10th class certificate)
  • 10th Class Certificate or Birth Certificate
  • 12th Class Certificate
  • Additional Documents (If required)
  • OBC-NCL Certificate (issued on or after 1st April 2021) (check www.ncbc.in for latest updates and guidelines)
  • Caste certificate for SC/ST students 
  • PwD category certificate - Physical Disability certificate (FORM-PwD II/III/IV whichever is applicable]) issued by the notified medical authority.
  • Candidates with Dyslexia must submit FORM - DYSLEXIC 1 and 2 instead of FORM - PwD.
  • The certificate must mention ‘SEVERE' to enable the candidates to claim its benefits.
  • Individual IITs may also constitute a medical board at the time of admission to analyze candidates' disability level. 
  • Candidates who need scribe must request a letter to the Chairman of IIT Madras.
  • Candidates seeking admission under DS category: Certificate (FORM-DS) issued by a competent authority in the Directorate of Resettlement and Rehabilitation, New Delhi under the Ministry of Defense or the Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India.
  • For PIO/OCI Card Holders: PIO/OCI Certificate, as applicable.

Steps to Reset JEE Advanced Registration Number and Password

In case students have forgotten your JEE Advanced Registration Number and Password, they can retrieve it by performing the below mentioned steps. 

  • Use the security questions and their answers which were chosen at the time of filling JEE Advanced Registration Form 2024.
  • Enter the verification code sent to you via text message to register the mobile number of the candidate.
  • Click on the Reset Link sent to you via email on the registered email address. 
  • What to Avoid During JEE Advanced Registration?
  • The payment of JEE Advanced Registration Fee must be done before the last date.
  • Upload required documents in the specified format.
  • Opt for test canters as per your convenience.

After registering themselves for the exam, candidates are advised to keep the below mentioned documents safe:

  • JEE Advanced Registration confirmation email
  • Passport size photographs (same as uploaded in JEE Advanced Application Form)
  • A printout of JEE Advanced Admit Card
  • A proof of registration

JEE Advanced Important Guidelines for International Aspirants

  • Candidates who are not citizens of India and those whose parents are not citizens of India do not fall under the category of OCI category are treated as foreign aspirants.
  • 10% of the total seats in every course are allotted to foreign nationals.
  • Foreign aspirants are not eligible for the reservation under OBC-NCL, SC, ST, and PwD categories. (mandated by Indian Govt.)
  • Foreign aspirants are not required to take the JEE Main Exam and can directly apply for JEE Advanced 2024.
  • Identity Proof - Citizen certificates or passport of both the candidates.
