IIT JAM Counselling for the year 2024 is scheduled to commence in April 2024. What are CCMN and JOAPS Counselling?

The Centralized Common Counselling for M.Sc. (CCMN) is an annual nationwide counseling process designed for securing admission to Master's programs in Science at NITs and CFTIs. CCMN Counseling is administered online and involves the participation of 22 different institutes. It's essential to note that CCMN Counseling 2024 should not be confused with IIT JAM Counseling 2024. CCMN is specifically intended for admissions into courses offered by NITs and CFTIs, whereas IIT JAM Counseling is geared towards admissions into IITs and IISc institutes.

IIT JAM 2024 Eligibility Criteria

• The eligibility criteria for the participating institutes in IIT JAM 2024 are as follows:
• The candidate should have appeared for the IIT JAM 2024 Examination.
• Candidates are required to meet the IIT JAM Cutoffs 2024 for their respective streams.
• Candidates should hold a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree with either a minimum CGPA of 6.5 or an aggregate of 60% marks. For SC/ST/PwD candidates, the requirement is a minimum CGPA of 6.0 or 55% in aggregate.
• Candidates who are in their final year of B.Sc are also eligible if they can complete their degree without any pending backlogs in the current academic session.

IIT JAM Counselling Process 2024

The Indian Institute of Technology Madras will release the IIT JAM counseling date on the official website. To gain a better understanding of the JAM counseling procedure for 2024, candidates are encouraged to follow the guidelines outlined below:

The CCMN Counseling Process consists of the following steps:

• Registration and Choice Locking: In the initial stage, candidates need to register for the exam, pay the registration fees, and select the colleges for admission. Subsequently, candidates must lock their choices within a specified deadline.
• Seat Allotment: Seats will be allocated to candidates based on their scores in the IIT JAM exam, the IIT JAM Cutoffs, the total number of candidates taking the exam, and other relevant factors. Candidates are required to submit a seat allocation fee (for the first round only).
• Online Submission of Documents: Candidates are obligated to submit their documents for verification, and this process will be conducted online. Detailed instructions regarding document submission and verification will be provided.
• Acceptance/Rejection of Seat: Candidates will be given the option to either accept the allocated seat or choose to upgrade it. If a candidate is dissatisfied with the assigned seat, they may opt to reject it. •  The final step in the CCMN Counseling process entails candidates physically attending the allotted institute for document verification. After successful document verification, candidates will be required to complete their enrollment at the institute.
