GMAT Selection Process starts as soon as the GMAT Examination is over. The entire selection process of GMAT can be divided into 3 steps, however, it is important to note that the Admission Procedure may vafry from institute to Institute and course to course.

As per the general selection process released by the Graduate Management Admissions Council (GMAC), the conducting authority of the examination, the admission process of GMAT can be segregated as:

Step 1:

  • After completion of the GMAT Exam for a particular candidate, the score will be displayed on the screen.
  • Candidate needs to accept the score in order to apply for the admission process.
  • Once score accepted, the complete information of the candidate along with the score will be sent to the all participating B-Schools matching your course preferences.
  • Any candidate who wishes to apply the maximum number of colleges can do the same by visiting the official website of GMAC i.e. gmac.com and apply for other preferred colleges.

Step 2:

  • The respective colleges will shortlist the candidates on basis of GMAT score.
  • For the final selection will be based on multiple selection criteria like Letters of Recommendation, Application Form and Statement of Purpose.
  • The final round of selection will be based on the performance in the personal interview.

Step 3:

Once the candidate is shortlisted the final selection will be based on how well the following factors are represented;

  • Profile of candidate: Candidates with a vibrant profile will obviously get more preferences over other. At the time of selection, candidates are judged on basis of academic performances, work experience and quality of work done in past, activities showing the social side of the candidate as well as proficiency in extracurricular activities.
  • Statement of Purpose: Having a perfect GMAT Score is not enough to take admission in the top MBA colleges of the world. Candidate should also be very clear about why he or she wants to apply for a particular MBA program from the particular college.
  • Letter of Recommendation: Having a strong letter of recommendation is going to make your chances strong enough to ensure a seat.
