How is the GATE Score calculated?
After the evaluation of all the answers of the GATE Exam are, the actual marks secured by any candidate will be considered for calculating the GATE Score 2025. For GATE papers with multiple sessions, raw marks obtained by the candidates in multiple sessions will be converted into normalized GATE marks for that particular subject. This is how the raw marks for single session papers or normalized marks for more than on session papers are used in order to calculate the GATE Score 2025, based on the qualifying marks.
Formula to Calculate GATE Score 2025:
GATE Normalization Process 2025
GATE 2025 exam was conducted on exam dates February 1, 2, 15 and 16, 2025. As there were multiple sessions in which the GATE Exam 2025 was conducted, the same normalization process is used to normalize the variations in the difficulty level of the GATE Question Papers across different sessions in which the exam is conducted.
The examination conducting body carries out the normalization process based on the fundamental assumption that “in all multi-session GATE 2025 Papers, the distribution of abilities of candidates is the same across all the sessions".
Below given is the formula for calculating the normalized marks for the multi session GATE Papers 2025:
Formula to Calculate GATE Normalized Score 2025:
GATE Marks vs Rank 2025
GATE Marks are calculated out of 100 as per the GATE Marking Scheme as there is negative marking in the paper. These marks are the actual raw score secured by the candidates in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering. Also Read - GATE 2025 Marks vs Rank
GATE Score is the normalized marks calculated by the examination conducting body out of 1000. This is done to make sure that no student is at a disadvantage due to the varied examination difficulty level across sessions and shifts.
