IIT Roorkee, the conducting body of GATE 2025, has closed the registration window of GATE 2025. GATE 2025 Application Form was made available on the official website of IIT Roorkee as well as GATE i.e. goaps.iisc.ac.in. Candidates who wished to appear in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering registered themselves before the registration window closed on September 30, 2024. GATE Exam Registration link was also made available on the official website as well as here on this page. In order to fill the GATE 2025 Application Form, candidates were to register themselves at the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS). GATE 2024 Official Website was gate.iitk.ac.in as the GATE 2024 was conducted by IIT Kanpur but this year GATE 2025 Exam is being conducted by IIT Roorkee hence interested students will be advised to visit goaps.iisc.ac.in to fill the GATE 2025 Registration Form. The last date to fill the GATE Application Form 2025 without any late fee is September 26, 2024. GATE Full Form is Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering.

• Candidates are required to process the payment of INR 1800 (INR 900 for Female/ST/SC/PwD candidates )as GATE Registration Fee while filling the GATE Registration Form.
• GATE Application Fee with late charges is INR 2300 (INR 1400 for Female/ST/SC/PwD candidates).
• Aspirants must upload the scanned copy of their passport sized photograph and signature as per the specifications defined by the exam conducting authority.
• Candidates must also ensure if they stand eligible to apply for GATE 2025 Exam before filling the application form.

How to Fill GATE 2025 Application Form?

• Visit the online portal of GOAPS and complete the GATE Registration Process.
• Fill the GATE Registration Form 2025.
• Upload all the required documents.
• Make the payment of GATE Exam Fees.
• Preview the duly filled GATE Registration Form 2025.
• Submit the duly filled application form completing your GATE Registration.

Note* If there is a delay in receiving the One Time Password, candidates can proceed for making the payment of GATE Exam Fees with verification of either email id or mobile number. The remaining one can be verified later on at another stage.

The registration of GATE 2025 has begun as per its previous trend since GATE 2024 Registration began on 30 August 2022. There were total 7,11, 542 candidates who completed GATE 2024 Registrations and appeared in GATE 2024 Exam.

GATE 2025 Exam Registration Procedure

The registration procedure of GATE Exam needs to be completed online on the official website of GATE. Candidates willing to apply for the exam are required to visit the official website of GATE and apply by filling the application form available there. There is a stepwise procedure that candidates must follow in order to fill the application form correctly.

The examination conducting authority make sure to release a guide for successful submission of GATE Registration Form. Below mentioned are the steps to apply for the exam and fill the application form in order to register for the exam:

GATE Registration

This is the first step to apply for the examination. Interested candidates must, first of all, register themselves by entering the required details. Candidates must click on “New User” tab if applying for the first time and proceed as per the guide. They will receive access to GOAPS after the registration procedure is completed.

Filling of GATE Application Form

Candidates must log in using the credentials received by them on their registered email id and start filling the GATE Registration Form.

Uploading of Important Documents

While filling the application form, candidates must also upload their passport sized photograph, signature, eligibility certificate, SC/ST certificate (if required) as per the specifications mentioned by the exam conducting authority.

Payment of GATE Exam Fees

Candidates must process the payment of GATE Exam Fees via any online payment modes such as net banking, credit card, or debit card.

Submission of GATE Application Form

Candidates must, at the end, submit their duly filled GATE Registration Form by accepting the declaration statement and clicking on “Submit” tab.

For Indian Candidates:

• Personal Information including name that should match the college records, date of birth, contact number, email ID and other details.
• Postal Address details including PIN Code.
• Qualifying Degree details including the name of the course, year of passing and specialization.
• College Details including address and PIN Code.
• Details about GATE such as for which subject the candidate is applying for and preferred examination cities.
• Scanned image of candidate's passport size photograph.
• Scanned image of candidate's signature.
• Scanned copy of candidate's eligibility document in PDF format.
• Scanned copy of previous degree certificate or provisional certificate.
• Scanned copy of Category Certificate, in case of candidates from reserved category.
• Scanned copy of PwD Certificate, in case of candidates from PwD category.
• Details of ID Proof of the candidate such as Passport, PAN Card, Voter's ID, Aadhar, Driving License, College ID card etc.
• In order to pay the application fee, bank details are required.

Guidelines for Photograph and Signature:

For Photograph:

• The candidate is required to scan the color passport size photograph with light background clicked after August 1 of the current year.
• The width of the photograph must be 3.5 cm and height must be 4.5 cm.
• The format of the file must be in JPEG format only.
• 50 percent of the area of the photograph must be covered with the candidate's face and must not be covered by the hair of the head or any other cloth.

For Signature:

• The candidate must draw a rectangular box of 2 cm (height) x 7 cm (width) on a plain sheet.
• The signature should be either with black or blue ink pen within the box.
• The signature must not be in Capital letters.
• While scanning the signature, make sure that the border of the box is neatly cropped.
• The scanned image must be in JPEG format.
• The size of the image must not exceed 160 x 560 in pixels whereas the minimum image size must not be less than 80 x 280 in pixels.

For Foreign Candidates:

• Personal Information including name that should match the college records, date of birth, contact number, email ID and other details.
• Postal Address details including PIN Code.
• Qualifying Degree details including the name of the course, year of passing and specialization.
• College Details including address and PIN Code.
• Details about GATE such as for which subject the candidate is applying for and preferred examination cities.
• Scanned image of candidate's passport size photograph.

So, the above mentioned was the brief idea of how students can register themselves and apply for the exam. The detailed description of step wise procedure to apply for GATE 2025 Exam has been given below. Candidates must ensure filling the form in the sequence given below.

GATE 2025 Registration Process

The first step to apply for the exam is to register for GATE 2025 by completing the registration procedure. Candidates applying for the first time must register as new user by clicking on the tab “New User”. Candidates who already possess login credentials can continue further by clicking on “Login, If Already Registered”.

Candidates applying for the first time must enter the below mentioned details correctly in order to register themselves:

• Name of the Candidate
• Email Address
• Country
• Mobile Number
• Password (Creation of New Password)
• Enter the Captcha on the Screen
• Click on ‘Submit' tab

Candidates must ensure that the details filled in by them are correct as any incorrect detail may lead to cancelation of their candidature.

• If the details given by the candidates are correct, candidates will receive an SMS and Email on the mobile number and email id registered by them respectively.
• Using this SMS or Email, candidates must create GOAPS password by entering details such as email id, mobile number, etc.
• The password created by students must be unique and candidates will be intimated on their registered email id and phone number. 

GATE 2025 Application Form Filling

The next step is to fill GATE 2025 Application Form made available right after the registration procedure is completed. Candidates are required to enter the enrollment id and password sent to them on their registered email id and mobile number. It is advisable for candidates to go through the information brochure of GATE 2025 Exam and read the given instructions thoroughly before filling the application form. This section consists of four subsections concerning "How to Apply for GATE 2025?".

• Candidates must choose the paper they wish to appear in. Choose your country from the dropdown and pick 3 options of your choice of GATE 2025 Exam Centers.

Candidates must also verify their email address and mobile number entered at the time of registration. While confirming the details by clicking on ‘Verify' button, they will receive an OTP on their registered email id and mobile number. Enter all the required details correctly as any incorrect may lead to cancelation of their candidature.

• Personal Details – Information such as Candidate's Name, Father's and Mother's Name, Date of Birth, Native Place, Nationality, etc. must be entered.
• Academic Detail – Information related to educational qualification from HSC till graduation must be entered.
• Communication Details – Temporary as well as the Permanent Address are to be entered while filling the application form.
• GATE Paper – Candidates must select the GATE Paper they will be appearing for. No changes in in GATE Exam Paper can be made after the application form is submitted.
• GATE Exam Centre – Select at most three exam cities from the list given online. The first two centres opted by the candidates should be from the same zone while the third one can be from any GATE 2024 Regional Zone. 
• Photo Identity Proof – The photo id number and the type of id must be entered correctly.

GATE Exam Fees Payment

The application fee for GATE 2025 varies for national and international students. Candidates must process the payment of application fee while filling the application form in order to complete the registration procedure successfully.

• Candidates can process the payment of application fee via any online payment modes such as credit card, debit card, or net banking.
• GATE Application Fee is not refundable.

• The GATE 2025 scorecard will be issued in accordance with the name entered on the application form.

Candidates must read and accept the declaration statement before submitting the GATE Application Form. They must be aware of all the points mentioned in the declaration statement. The GATE Application Form can not be submitted before agreeing to the declaration. Some of the points are mentioned below:

• Confirm that the GATE Registration Form is filled by you.
• You understand every point mentioned in GATE Application Form.
• You agree to strictly abide by the code of conduct for GATE 2025 Exam.
• If any of the information provided by the candidate is later found incorrect, the candidature will be canceled.
• Any legal action for providing incorrect information can be taken against the candidate.

How to Check GATE 2025 Application Status?

In order to check the application status of GATE 2025 Exam, candidates must log in at GATE 2025 Registration Link using their login credentials. If the application status of the exam shows ‘Under Scrutiny/Under Process', then the candidates must not bother about the status. The concerned authorities will scrutinize all the GATE Registration Forms and will send intimation to all the students whose applications need to get rectified.

Forgot Enrolment ID or Password of GATE 2025?

There could be certain situations when students misplace their enrolment id and password. They must know they can use their email id to access their GATE Application Form 2025 should the need arise.

To access the application form, you have two options:

• Request an OTP: If you know your Enrollment ID/Email Address but have forgotten your Password, click "Request an OTP" to get a One Time Password. Enter your registered mobile number as well as your Enrollment ID/Email Address. To obtain a new password, click Reset Password.
• Already have an OTP? : To reset your password, click on "Already have an OTP?" if you already have one. To create a new password, enter the following information:
  • Email Address/Enrollment ID
  • OTP
  • Password Change
  • Password Confirmation
  • Password Requirements: Choose a password that cannot be easily guessed. It should be unique and contain between 8 and 15 characters.

How to Correct Mistakes in GATE 2025 Application Form?

In case candidates have committed any mistakes in the application form of GATE Exam, they can rectify them when GATE Registration Correction Window opens after the GATE Registration are concluded. They can't make changes in the entire form and only a few specific areas can be rectified by the candidates.
