CLAT 2025 Latest Updates: CLAT 2025 Exam is scheduled to be held on December 1, 2024. Students who have registered can obtain their CLAT 2024 admit card from the official website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in. The examination will take place in 130 centers across India.

The CLAT Exam 2025 is set to occur from 2 pm to 4 pm and will be conducted in 130 CLAT Test Centers nationwide. It is anticipated that around 1 lakh candidates will participate in the CLAT exam this year. The consortium had previously released the revised CLAT Exam Pattern 2024, reducing the number of questions from 150 to 120 while maintaining the same syllabus as the previous year. The Consortium of NLUs has provided CLAT 2024 question papers for practice.

The Consortium of NLUs will release the CLAT 2025 admit card online in November 2024. Successfully registered candidates for CLAT 2025 can download their admit cards from the official website till December 1, 2024, until 1:30 PM. The CLAT admit card is essential for attending the examination.

What is CLAT Exam?

The Consortium of National Law Universities has released an official notification on its official website confirming its revised CLAT 2024 schedule. The eligibility required to take CLAT Exam is to have secured at least 45% marks in aggregate in 12th class exams. This is defined under CLAT 2024 Eligibility Criteria available on the official website of CNLU. As CLAT 2025 is going to be conducted in few months, so candidates are under pressure of performing well but they still have enough time to solve CLAT Previous Year Question Papers to be able to increase their efficiency of solving the paper. This will also help them get a better understanding of CLAT Exam Pattern, CLAT Syllabus and the difficulty level of the exam.

What is CLAT Exam?

The Common Law Admission Test which is widely known as CLAT exam is a national level online entrance examination for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate law programs offered by 22 law institutions across the country. The exam is conducted by the consortium of National Law Universities. Not only the National Law University but also various private and self-financed law institutes and colleges in India accept CLAT Score in order to shortlist candidates for admission.

CLAT Full Form

CLAT stands for Common Law Admission Test. Students who want to study law can apply for the CLAT exam after completing their class 12 from any recognized board. Furthermore, students with a Bachelor's degree in LLB may apply for the CLAT exam to pursue a PG course in law at any of the 24 NLUs.

What is the official website of CLAT?

The official website of CLAT is consortiumofnlus.ac.in. CLAT applications are only accepted online through the official website. Aside from that, other CLAT exam-related procedures, such as the publication of CLAT results, merit lists, and counseling, are carried out on the CLAT official website.

The NLU Consortium began CLAT 2025 Registration Procedure on 15th July 2024 and the last date to fill the application form is October 15, 2024. The CLAT Application Form has been made available through online mode and students interested in taking the exam can fill the application form by following the link given here. To register for the exam, candidates must possess a valid email id and a phone number. While registering for the exam, candidates must fill the various fields such as Name, DOB, Upload Documents, Educational Details, etc. They must also select Exam Center and process the payment of application fee while filling the form.

How to Apply for CLAT 2024 Exam?

Registration – Interested candidates will have to register by providing their personal and academic details. Besides, they must select and confirm a password for their newly created account.

Login – After the registration process is completed, candidates must log in to access their application form.

Select the Program – After logging in, choose the program you wish to take this exam for i.e. 5-year LLB or 1-year LLB.

Fill the Application Form – There are various fields in the exam form such as personal information, communication details, qualifying examination status, exam center preferences (THREE centers can be selected in the order of preference), and reservation.

Submit the Form – Once these exam details are completely filled, candidates must agree to the declaration and give their consent. After all this is done, candidates must submit the form.

Payment of Application Fee - This is the last step to fill CLAT 2024 Application Form. The payment of CLAT Application Fee must be done through online mode i.e. credit card, debit card or net banking. In addition to the exam fee, candidates will also be required to pay an additional amount of INR 500 if they wish to opt for previous years' question papers.

CLAT 2024 Eligibility Criteria

As per the CLAT 2024 Eligibility defined by the Consortium of National Law Universities, the candidates with at least 45% marks in aggregate in their last qualifying examination will be considered eligible to take the national level entrance examination. Besides, 5% relaxation in the qualifying marks will be gives to candidates belonging to the reserved categories.

  • After CLAT Result 2024 is declared, candidates will receive a provisional admission to an NLU based on their merit rank secured in CLAT 2024 Exam.
  • A merit list containing the name of the colleges will be released on the official website. Candidates can check it from there only.

CLAT 2024 Merit List

Based on the results of the entrance exam, the exam officials will create and release the CLAT 2024 merit list. The CLAT merit list 2024 places candidates in order of their test scores. The tiebreaker, however, is employed to determine the merit rank when two or more candidates receive the same ranks.

CLAT Merit List 2024 - Tie-breaking procedure

  • The candidate with the highest score in the "Legal Aptitude" segment of CLAT 2024 will be put higher in the merit list.
  •  If this step is taken, the candidate who is older will receive a higher rank.
  • If there is still a tie, the merit rank of these applicants will be established by a computerized draw of lots.

CLAT 2024 Counseling

Below mentioned are the steps to register for CLAT Counseling after qualifying CLAT Exam.

Step 1 – Visit the official website and check the merit list of shortlisted candidates.

Step 2 – Enter your preferences for NLU and choose up to 6 NLU.

Step 3 – Process the payment of prescribed application fee online at the portal.

After the completion, seat allotment results will be announced by the concerned authority and after it, all the shortlisted candidates will be advised to confirm their seat for admission to their desired colleges. Shortlisted candidates will have 3 options:

  • Accept or Lock the seat
  • After accepting/locking the seat, upload the required documents to proceed further.
  • Process the payment of admission fee to the allotted college.
  • Submit all the important documents and process the requisite amount to the NLU.
  • Exit admission process.
