KEA has announced the Karnataka Common Entrance Test – KCET exam dates 2025 on their official website – cetonline.karnataka.gov.in. The exam will be conducted on April 18 and April 19, 2025, in online mode. What is the KCET Exam?

Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) is a state-level entrance examination which is also known as Karnataka CET and Kar CET. The examination is conducted under the direction of Karnataka University and administered by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA). KCET Exam is the gateway of admission to engineering, pharmacy, architecture, Ayurveda, homeopathy, and other degree programs offered by the colleges in Karnataka.

Candidates are required to qualify the KCET 2025 Exam to be eligible for admission to these colleges. Besides, candidates who wish to take admission in Medical, Dental, Ayurveda, Unani, or Homeopathy programs must qualify the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), whereas those seeking admission to Architecture programs must qualify JEE Main 2025 Paper 2 or NATA exams to be eligible for KCET Counselling.

BE/B. Tech 

Candidates should be a pass in 2nd PUC / Class 12 / equivalent exam with English as one of the Languages and obtained a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Electronics / Computer (40% for reserved category) 

Farm Science courses means, BSc (Hons) Agriculture, BSc (Hons) Sericulture, BSc (Hons) Horticulture, BSc (Hons) Forestry, BTech Biotechnology, BSc (Hons) Community Science, BTech (Agril. Engg), BTech (Food Technology), B. Tech (Dairy Technology), BFSc (Fisheries), BSc (Hons) Ag. Maco. 

Candidates should have passed 2nd PUC / Class 12 / equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology as optional subjects. 

Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (BVSc & AH) 

Candidates should pass 2nd PUC / Class 12 and obtain a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English subjects (40% for reserved category). 

B. Pharma 

  • Passed in 2nd PUC / Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and obtained minimum 45% marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, Biology subjects. (40% for reserved category candidates) or 
  • Passed in Diploma in Pharmacy from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India Under Section 12 of the Pharmacy Act and has secured minimum of 45% marks. (40% for reserved category candidates) 

2nd Year B. Pharma 

Candidates should have passed Diploma in Pharmacy examination from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India Under Section 12 of the Pharmacy Act and have secured minimum of 45% marks. (40% for reserved category candidates) 

D. Pharma 

  • Candidates should pass 2nd PUC / Class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics OR 
  • Passed in Diploma in Pharmacy examination from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India Under Section 12 of the Pharmacy Act. 

Naturopathy & Yoga 

Candidates should have passed the qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects and English as one of the languages of study and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects in the qualifying examination is eligible for admission to Naturopathy & Yoga courses (40% for reserved category candidates).

How many questions will there be in KCET Exam?

The total number of questions in KCET Question paper will be 180. The questions are divided amongst three sections namely Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/Biology. Each section will have 60 questions as per the KCET Exam Pattern.
