The eligibility criteria for AP ECET 2025 have been announced by the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) in the official notification. The Eligibility Criteria include Nationality, Educational Qualifications, and other details. Candidates should go through these criteria before filling out the application form. It is also noticed that if any candidate is found ineligible during any stage of the admission process, he/ she will be disqualified. At the same time, the AP ECET 2025 application form is also available on the official website, students are required to collect all the necessary documents and information before the process begins.
AP ECET 2025 Eligibility Criteria
The AP ECET eligibility criteria have been released by the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education on the official website. The eligibility criteria of AP ECET 2025 are released separately for all the courses.
Eligibility criteria to appear for AP ECET:
Eligibility criteria for AP ECET 2025 Candidates who wish to apply for AP ECET 2025 must satisfy the below-mentioned conditions.
- Nationality: The Candidates must hold Indian citizenship.
- Residence: The candidate should be a resident of Andhra Pradesh.
- Local/Non-local Status: As per the rules laid down in the Andhra Pradesh Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission) Order, 1974 (as amended from time to time), Candidates should meet Local/Non-local Status rules
Educational Qualification:
- Candidates should have completed a Diploma in Engineering and Technology/ Diploma in Pharmacy from the State Board of Technical Education of Andhra Pradesh or any equivalent diploma recognized by the Andhra Pradesh government.
- Candidates who have passed a 3-year BSc degree with Mathematics as one of the subjects from a recognized university in Andhra Pradesh (or its equivalent) are also eligible.
- Final Year Diploma Students: Those who are ongoing students of their Diploma course can apply. But before they come into the college, they have to finish their practical, which is essential to their diploma.
Minimum Marks Required:
- For AP ECET the candidates are required to have a minimum of 45% marks in a Diploma or BSc degree.
- The minimum mark required for candidates from the reserved category is 40%.
Local Status for Candidates Migrated from Telangana to Andhra Pradesh:
- Candidates Migrated from Telangana to Andhra Pradesh and Local Status
- Once a candidate does the 5-year stay in Andhra Pradesh, they will be considered as having local status in Andhra Pradesh, irrespective of whether their native place is in Telangana.
- This rule is taken from the guidelines published by the Government of Andhra Pradesh for educational activities.
AP ECET Exam Requirements
Candidates eligible for BE/BTech/BPharm for Lateral Entry Admission. The following are the major guidelines for admission through AP ECET 2025:
AP ECET Exam Requirement:
- The candidates are required to appear and qualify for the AP ECET 2025 examination.
- Only appearance in the exam does not guarantee any admission. Candidates also need to fulfill all the eligibility criteria and admission norms.
Seat Reservation:
- For each of the courses, 85% of the seats are reserved for local candidates (the students from Andhra Pradesh).
- The rest 15% of seats are unreserved, which means students from other states can avail the opportunity for these seats.
Lateral Entry Scheme (To Enter the Second Year Directly)
- For Private Professional Colleges, whether minority or non-minority institutions, there is also an additional 20% Lateral Entry Seat for students, apart from the regular intake.
- Owing to the student population, University Colleges have an additional quota, where 10% of the total number of seats facilitate lateral entry students on top of the normal intake.
- Priority for Diploma Holders: Diploma holders will be given priority when filling up the lateral entry seats.
- Candidates possessing a BSc (Mathematics) degree will be considered only after offering seats to all eligible diploma holders.
The regulations also make sure that admission is simply conducted and ensure that candidates are given preference based on merits.
Eligible Diploma Branches for AP ECET 2025
Aspirants should note that the second list of eligible diploma branches for admission to engineering courses, under the subject paper of the AP ECET exam, has been released by the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE).

The AP ECET 2025 application form has been released by the Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) on their official website cets.apsche.ap. gov.in/ECET. Students must note that application forms are filled out online only.
