The NEET UG 2025 Exam Date is May 4, 2025. NEET 2025 will be conducted as an offline paper-pen-based exam. The National Testing Agency has revised the NEET 2025 Exam Pattern. The exam structure of the exam has now been restored to the one before the pandemic COVID-19. Section B of NEET question paper has been removed, reducing the total number of questions to 180. The students will be given 3 hours to solve 180 questions.
The examination conducting body conducts the NEET UG once a year. It is the ONLY national level undergraduate medical entrance exam conducted in the country. Qualifying the examination gets you admission to MBBS, BDS, B. Sc Nursing, BAMS, Veterinary, and other Medical/Paramedical courses across the country. NEET 2025 exam will be conducted in 13 languages.
On January 16, the NTA released an official notice stating that the NEET 2025 exam mode will remain offline. The NMC (National Medical Council) has released the NEET 2025 Syllabus PDF Download link on the official website - nmc.org.in. NTA will soon announce the NEET 2025 exam date but as per the previous years' trend, we can expect the NEET ug 2025 exam to be conducted on May 4, 2025 (Sunday). It will also begin the NEET UG registration 2025 along with the release of the official information brochure. Candidates who stand eligible can fill the NEET application form before the last date to apply.
What are the New Changes in NEET UG 2025?
The NTA has introduced a few changes in the exam structure of NEET exam 2025. Candidates appearing for the medical entrance exam must go through these changes and prepare accordingly. These changes are mentioned below:
- The NTA has removed Section B from the NEET question paper 2025. It consisted of optional questions and was introduced during the COVID-19 pandemic to provide flexibility to candidates.
- The total exam duration of the NEET 2025 exam is 3 hours (180 minutes) instead of 3 hours 20 minutes.
- This has reduced the total number of questions in NEET exam. There will now be 180 questions in the exam. 45 questions in Physics, 45 questions in Chemistry, and 90 questions in Biology. All the questions are mandatory.

NEET Application Form 2025
The NEET 2025 Application Form is scheduled to begin from January 31, 2025 and the NEET Registration Process will be conducted in online mode only. The last date to fill NEET Application Form is expected to be March 1, 2025. The National Testing Agency will also provide the students with the facility to make corrections in their duly filled application form by opening the NEET Application Correction Window. The correction window will be opened after the successful conclusion of NEET registration 2025. The candidates will be able to make the necessary changes in their specific fields.
How to fill out the NEET UG Application Form?
- Visit the NTA NEET Official Website – www.neet.nta.nic.in
- Navigate to and click on the tab mentioning “NEET Application Form”
- Read all the instructions and register yourself with your personal details such as Name, Contact Details, and Password
- candidates will then receive an email on their registered email with their NEET Application Number
- After the NEET Login credentials are generated and mailed, log in to the website using these credentials
- Fill the NEET Application Form with personal as well as educational details
- Select exam medium, and the exam city
- Upload the scanned passport sized photograph and signature

NEET Eligibility Criteria 2025
NEET 2025 Eligibility Criteria must be fulfilled by candidates willing to register themselves for the exam. They must ensure that they stand eligible as per the eligibility criteria defined by the NTA. Below mentioned is the NEET Eligibility defined by the NTA:
- Candidates must have passed 12th class with PCB and English as compulsory subjects securing at least 50% marks in aggregate from a recognized board.
- Candidates must have passed 12th class with PCB with at least 45% marks and 40% marks for PwD and OBC/SC/ST respectively.
- Candidates will be considered eligible even if they opted for Biology as an optional subject.

NEET 2025 Admit Card
NEET UG 2025 Admit Card will be released at least 2-3 days prior to the exam commencement. The NEET Exam will be conducted in offline mode. Candidates who have successfully completed the NEET Registration will be able to download their NTA NEET Admit Card by logging onto the NTA NEET 2025 Website using their login credentials. It is one most important and mandatory document that students must carry to the examination centre on NEET Exam Date. Candidates must also preserve it till the admission procedure is concluded.
NEET Admit Card 2025 will consist of the details related to candidates such as personal details, exam date, exam time, exam centre, etc.
How to Download the NEET Admit Card
- Visit the official website of NEET – neet.nta.nic.in.
- Navigate to and click on “NEET 2025 Admit Card Download” Link.
- Enter NEET Registration Number, Date of Birth, and Security Pin and click on Submit.
- A new window will appear consisting of your NEET Admit Card 2025.
- Download it and take a printout for future reference.
After the NEET Hall Ticket is downloaded, candidates will be required to paste their recent colored Postcard Size Photo for NEET (preferably the one uploaded in NEET Application Form) in the space provided. Besides, they will also be required to get their parents' signatures on the NEET Hall Ticket and aspirants will have to sign in the presence of invigilators only.
NEET 2025 Exam Pattern
The NEET 2025 Exam Pattern has undergone some changes this year. The NTA has removed Section B from NEET question paper. This has led to a reduction in total exam duration. The total time to complete the NEET 2025 exam is 3 hours i.e. 180 minutes and the total number of questions is now reduced to 180 (which was 200 previously). NEET physics and NEET chemistry have 45 questions each while NEET biology section consists of 90 questions. NEET Biology Questions are further divided between two sections namely Botany and Zoology. The exam will continue to be conducted in paper pencil based mode.
Each question will carry 4 marks and there will be a deduction of 1 mark for every incorrect answer as per the negative marking scheme of NEET Exam. There will be no marks rewarded or deducted for unanswered questions. The table mentioned below explains the NEET 2025 Exam Pattern:

NEET Counselling 2025
NEET 2025 The counseling process will be carried out online for all qualifying candidates. Candidates will be chosen for the NEET Counselling session based on the merit list.
The NEET 2025 counselling process will be carried out for two categories of seats: AIQ seats and State Quota seats.
