The XAT Registration has started on 15th July 2024 on the official website. To appear and register for the upcoming XAT Exam the candidates must fill an online application form and pay the requisite fee. The XAT Application Fee is INR 2200 for all the candidates and the application window shall remain open till 30th of November 2024. As per XAT official notification, the admit card will be released on 20th December 2024.
The XAT 2025 Exam is scheduled for January 5, 2025 via online mode and will be conducted across 72 cities in India. The XAT Score is only valid for the current academic year and is valid for admission to MBA/PGDM courses at XLRI Jamshedpur, XIMB, and 1000 Top B - Schools in India. Steps to fill the XAT Application Form
In order to fill out the XAT Application Form the candidates must first register themselves on the XAT website - xatonline.in. Once the registration part is completed, the candidates can move on to filling out the application form. The step by step procedure for XAT Application can be understood from the picture below. The step-by-step guide to avoid registration errors has been explained below.
Step 1: XAT Registration Process
The first step in the XAT Application form is to register for the exam. To register for the XAT Exam aspirants need to do follow the below set of instructions.
- Visit the XAT Registration official website - xatonline.in
- Click on the register button available on the home screen on top
- Enter required details like Name, Email Id, Phone Number, Password, etc.
- Click the Register button at the end
- A unique XAT ID and Password will be shared to the registered email
- Verify the same to complete XAT Registration

Step 2: Filling out the XAT Application Form
Once the registration is completed, the candidates can move forward with their application. Follow the below steps to fill out the application form.
- Visit the official website and click on the login button at the top
- Login using the credentials created in step 1 - Registration
- On this page, click on the 'Apply Now' option
- Now start filling out the XAT application form as shown in the images below.
Step 2.1: Adding Basic Details, Parents Details, and Communication Address
Add the basic, parents, and communication details as represented and click on the next option.
Step 2.2: Add High School & Graduation Details
Add the schooling and graduation details, and click on the next option
Step 2.3: Add Work Experience and Program to opt for Details
Add the details of your work experience along with the program you wish to apply for in case you want to apply at XLRI, and click on the next option
Step 2.4: Add Test City Details
Under this step, add 6 preferences of the test cities you want to give the exam in. Enter in order of preference only, and then click on the next option.
Step 2.5: Uploading Documents
Upload the documents, scanned photograph and signature as per the specific dimensions, along with one identity proof like PAN or Aadhaar card, and click on the next option.
Step 2.6: Fill the Declaration Form
Fill the declaration form and click on the continue option at the bottom of the page.

Document Uploading Guidelines
Candidates can utilize the below pointers to scan the photograph and signature correctly.
- Set the scanner to a resolution of 200 dpi (dots per inch)
- Set colour to true colour
- File size should be as per specified dimensions in the table below
- Crop the image so that only photograph and signature are visible
If using MS Windows/MS Office, you can obtain photo and signature in .jpeg format not exceeding 50 kb & 20 kb respectively by using MS Paint or MS Office Picture Manager. You just have to use the 'Save As' option in the File menu to save the photo and signature in .jpeg format. The file size can be reduced below 50 kb (photograph) & 20 kb (signature) by using 'crop and resize' option.

Procedure of uploading documents in XAT application form 2025
To upload scanned photograph and signature in the XAT 2025 application form, follow the steps given below:
- There will be separate fields for uploading photograph and signature
- Click on the respective link 'Upload Photograph/Signature'
- Browse and select the location where the scanned document has been saved
- Select the file by clicking on it
- Click the 'Upload' button
Step 3: Payment of the XAT Application Fee
The third and final step in the XAT application process is paying the XAT application fee. It is to be noted that the XAT 2025 application form is deemed incomplete without the fee payment. Under this step, candidates will review the payment details, and then click on the Make Payment option.

Finally, pay the XAT Application Fee by using any of the methods available and click on pay now option.
XAT Registration - Key Pointers
When filling out the XAT Application Form, the following pointers must be kept in mind:
- Candidates can choose upto 3 test cities for the XAT Exam
- Once the preferences are entered and submitted, no changes can be made
- The XAT Application Form will not be submitted until the fee payment is completed
- It is not necessary to pay the fee on same day, but must be paid before the last date as the application form will not be considered without payment
- Upon successful payment, an E-Receipt for payment must be generated automatically. if the receipt is not generated it indicates a payment failure
- In case of failed payment, candidates should login again and complete the payment process
- Ensure to take a printout of the e-receipt for safety and future purposes
- Preferred Web Browsers for XAT Application - Internet Explorer (V11 and above), Mozilla Firefox (V50 to V61), and Google Chrome (V50 to V69)
Documents Required for XAT Registration
Certain documents are needed to fill out the XAT 2025 application form to furnish valid details. Below is the list of documents you should keep by your side for filling out the XAT form. Apart from the signature, photograph, and photo ID, no other document is to be uploaded with the form. The rest of the documents are needed to make correct entries in the XAT application form.
- Class 10 marksheet
- Class 12 marksheet
- Graduation marksheet
- Email ID and mobile phone number
- Date of Birth proof
- Address proof
- Aadhaar card
- Category certificate (if applicable)
- Scanned digital photograph of less than 1 MB

How to Retrieve the XAT Registration Password?
In case a candidate forgot their XAT login credentials, they can follow the below steps to retrieve their XAT credentials.
- Click on the XAT 2025 registration tab
- Click on the 'Forgot Password' tab
- Provide the registered email ID and phone number
- Enter the CAPTCHA Code
- Now, click on the 'Get Password' tab
- The XAT 2025 registration ID and Password will be sent on the registered email ID
What After the XAT Registration?
Once the XAT registration is completed, candidates will be able to make corrections in their XAT application form if required. XLRI will open the application correction window on a certain date for a set time. Candidates can then make edits to the application during that window. Once the application form is corrected, candidates will be able to download their XAT 2025 admit card online. It must be noted that the complete XAT application process shall be completed through online mode only. Candidates can download their admit card for XAT 2025 using their XAT ID and Password.
