TNEA Counselling 2025 Process
The TNEA counselling 2025 will begin online at the official website - tneaonline.org. The process is expected to begin in the month of May 2025 and the last date for TNEA registration will be in the month of June 2025. The TNEA 2025 counselling process must be completed by candidates in accordance with the timetable made public by the authorities. The shortlisted candidates will be grouped by rank by the authorities. To learn the details of TNEA counselling 2025, candidates can refer to the procedure below.
Step 1: TNEA 2025 Choice Filling
A candidate is given 3 days to fill the choices and their preferred college and branches. The order of choice is of extreme importance and there is no limit to the number of choices that can be filled.
Step 2: TNEA Seat Allotment
Allotment of the seat will be based on the preferred choice of candidate as per rank and the seat matrix. Below is the process to download the provisional allotment:
- Go to the official website and click on the login button
- Login using the credentials created at the time of registration
- Now locate the 'open provisional allotment' button and click on it
- The allotment will be displayed on screen after a minute or two. Download it for future use.
Step 3: Choice Confirmation & Option Practice
During the allotment stage, the candidate is allotted a seat and is given 6 options. The candidates must choose an option within 2 days else they are shifted to the next round of counselling. These 6 options are explained below:
Option 1: Accept and Join
The candidate can simply accept the seat allotted to them and report to the college. Failing to report to the college, the candidate will lose these seats and cannot participate in further counselling rounds.
Option 2: Accept and Upward
Here, the candidate is satisfied with the seat allotted but wishes to wait for higher allotment as per preference. For eg., A candidate is given seat 5, but he wishes to wait for choice 1,2,3, or 4. In case no better choice is available, the candidate is confirmed with the previously allotted seat.
Option 3: Decline and Upward
Here, the candidate is not satisfied with the seat and wants to go for a higher allotment seat. The candidate declines the allotted seat and waits for a better one. In case no better choice is available, the candidate will be moved to the next round.
Option 4: Decline and Move to Next Round
The candidate here is not satisfied with the seat, and does not want to opt for an upward case as well. The candidate then declines the seat and moves to the next round.
Option 5: Decline and Quit
A candidate is not satisfied with the seat and does not want to move ahead with subsequent rounds as well.
Option 6: Upward or Move to Next Round
This option will be shown to only those candidates who have not been allotted any seat. In this case if the seat is available in upward movement, the candidate will be allotted the seat. Otherwise he will be moved to the next round.
Step 4: Reporting & Confirmation of Seat
All the candidates who have been allotted seats and have opted for 'Accept & Join' will be reporting to the allotted college and confirm their admission by paying the college fees within 7 days. Non-Admission will be considered as not willing to join and the allotment will be cancelled. All those who had opted for 'Accept & Upward' will be allotted tentative admission and must pay the fee by visiting the nearest TFC along with submitting their certificates to hold the current seat. Non-reporting and Non-payment will be considered as not willing to join, resulting in the cancellation of the allotted seat. Such candidates will not only lose the seat, but will also not be considered for any other subsequent counselling rounds as well.
