NIFT Preparation Tips

To prepare for the NIFT exam it is advised that the candidates should work on their drawing skills and general design aptitude to clear the exam. Below are a few key tips for each stage of the NIFT exam, to help the candidates prepare for the exam in a better way.

Read More on How to prepare for the NIFT Entrance Exam 2024

GAT preparation tips

  • Carefully go through the exam pattern and syllabus
  • Make sure that you are following the best books for NIFT 2025
  • Prepare an actionable study plan and stick to it. Start your NIFT 2025 preparation early. This will ensure you have enough time to complete the syllabus, solve sample papers, take mock tests, and do enough revision.
  • Take notes during your study. If the notes are good enough, you can use them for quick revision instead of going through the books and large blocks of text. This in turn can save a lot of time that can be used elsewhere.
  • Solve as many sample papers as you can. Also, add previous years' NIFT question papers to the mix.
  • In the days leading up to the exam, take a few mock tests.
  • It is also important that you stay positive and healthy.

CAT preparation tips

Here is how you can prepare for the creative ability test (CAT):

  • Work on your observation and creative skills.
  • Learn the nuances of geometrical shapes.
  • Before you draw anything, learn to conceptualize
  • Jittery and unclear lines are a big no-no for getting a good score in CAT. So, improve your line drawing skills.
  • Shading is not a very important skill for CAT, but learning the basics won't do any harm.
  • Learn various types of drawings - human, figure, cartoon, perspective, doodling, geometric, etc.

NIFT Answer Key

The NIFT Answer Key will be released by NTA on its official website once the exam is over. It is expected to release in the 3rd week of February, and will only be available for the online GAT paper and not the offline CAT paper. using the NIFT provisional answer key and the NIFT marking scheme, candidates will be able to calculate the probable scores.

NIFT NTA also provides an opportunity to the candidates to challenge the NIFT answer key by paying INR 200 per question. Once the challenges are submitted during the answer key challenge window, the authorities will release the final answer key along with the NIFT Result.

Steps to Download the NIFT Answer Key

Candidates can download the NIFT answer key using the instructions given below.

  • Go to the NTA NIFT admission portal
  • Click on the answer key download link

To check your results, candidates need to follow the below mentioned steps.

  • Click on the result link
  • In the log-in window that opens, enter your application number and date of birth

The final NIFT result will be declared later. The final list is prepared by giving weightage to the CAT, GAT, and the Situation Test & Personal Interview round.

NIFT Cutoff 2025

The National Institute of Fashion Technology will release the NIFT Cutoff 2025 alongside the NIFT 2025 result. The cutoff is category-specific and it represents the minimum marks required for the further rounds. Furthermore, it should be noted that the NIFT qualifying cutoff is different from the NIFT admission cutoff. The cutoff is released as the opening and closing ranks for various categories like General, OBC, SC, ST, and PwD.

NIFT cutoff is important for the candidates as it represents the last rank at which the admission is offered to NIFT campuses and course. Candidates who fail to meet this cutoff criteria will automatically be eliminated from participating further and will not be able to take admission to any NIFT campus or course.

Factors Determining the NIFT Cutoff

There are certain factors that affect the NIFT cutoff every year. These factors have been listed below.

  • The total number of applicants and test takers
  • Previous Year cutoff trends
  • Difficulty level of the exam
  • Availability of seats in a particular college or course

NIFT 2025 Cutoff - Expected

Every year approximately 40,000 students appear for the NIFT Examination for a total of 4517 seats. The NIFT 2024 cutoff is yet to be announced. However, to get an estimate of the NIFT 2025 cutoff and 2024 cutoff, candidates can refer to the below table.
