BSc Mathematics Eligibility

To pursue a BSc in Mathematics, candidates should meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • Qualification: The candidate must pass 10+2 or equivalent from any recognized board.
  • Subjects Required: Mathematics must be a mandatory subject in Class 12.
  • Minimum Marks: Generally, a student must secure around 50-60% marks in the 12th class exam. Sometimes, for the most prominent universities, the cut-off goes up to above 60%.
  • Entrance Exam : Some may have entrance exams like CUET, JNU Entrance or any other state level entrance exams and some others are granted admission purely on merit.

BSc Mathematics Admission Processes

Admission process can vary from university to university, students looking to apply for the BSc Mathematics program can do so through multiple methods. Students can apply and get admission through either merit or through entrance exams. The BSc Mathematics Admission Process for students can generally go as follows:

  • Students can qualify themselves for the admission process in B.Sc. Mathematics by scoring good marks in a college's cut-off criteria at the 10+2 level and sometimes with an interview as well.
  • Another way students get admission is when they clear certain entrance exams conducted by universities/colleges such as CUET UG, GSAT, NEST and IISER along with the prescribed cut-off.
  • Application process begins by checking eligibility criteria of the desired colleges where students apply either online or in person. If a student satisfies the cutoffs and other eligibility factors, he/she can progress to the admissions procedure.
  • The finalized admission results come after the assessment of a student's application based on academic performance, merit, and other basis done by the college.
