The BSc Botany course is a 3 year undergraduate program and is divided into 6 semesters. The BSc Botany course mainly deals with the study, research and analysis of plants and flora. The course dives into various aspects and topics related to plants. BSc Botany: An Overview

BSc Botany Eligibility Criteria

The BSc Botany course’s eligibility criteria is mainly concerned with a student’s educational background and age. The required eligibility criteria for the BSc Botany course includes:

  1. Students wishing to pursue the BSc Botany course need to have a background in science during their 10+2. This includes them having a well-rounded background with Physics, Chemistry and Biology in their 10+2 years of schooling.
  2. Students must have completed their 10+2 with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognised board.
  3. Students wishing to pursue the BSc Biotechnology course must be a minimum of 17 years of age to be considered eligible.

BSc Botany Admission Process

The admission process for the BSc Botany course depends on either entrance exams or is based on a student’s existing merit, mainly in relation to their score in their 10+2. The selection criteria varies from university to university. The general process for the BSc Botany process can be as-

  1. Students can apply to various universities and see if they pass through general merit based on their 10+2 marks and give a required interview. 
  2. Preparing to give the required entrance exams as designated by their choice of university. They must check whether they meet the required eligibility criteria as well as clear the required cut-off for their university of choice.
  3. Students can apply through offline or online means.
  4. Students applying upon meeting the required cutoff criteria have to wait upon colleges assessing their qualifications, merits or ranks.

BSc Botany Entrance Exams -

As stated, entrance exams are a part of the BSc Botany course’s admission process. Students are to meet a university’s required cut-off criteria or rank for the designated entrance exam to be granted admission to the institution.
