Xavier Institute of Management or XIM University is ranked number 43rd by NIRF 2024 under the Management category, 6th in the Best Private B-Schools overall category, and 3rd in the Top 50 Private B-Schools under the University Program. It has been also ranked 1st among the Top 40 private universities by the Times B Schools survey Ranking 2024. It was formerly known as Xavier University Odisha. The university holds accreditation from the NBA, SAQS, and NAAC.
XIMB University (Bhubaneshwar) was established in October 1987 that foster invention in the classroom and develop resilient, future leaders who can steer organizations toward an equitable, and sustainable society. And for the same, it provides its students with a wide range of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs. The Xavier Institute of Management has been regarded among the top B-schools in India for the past 37 years.
XIMB University offers courses such as business management, human resource management, rural management, sustainability management, communications, computer science & engineering, economics, commerce, law, governance & public affairs, and liberal arts. These courses are developed keeping in mind the long-term perspective necessary for creativity, growth, and contribution to society. Additionally, two distinct courses are available at Xavier Bhubaneswar: Urban Management and Governance and Sustainability Management. Apart from its programs, XIM University Bhubaneshwar also has numerous Student Forums (co-curricular activities, sports, cultural and community activities) that provide learning opportunities outside the classroom.
In the year 2013, the government of Odisha passed the Odisha Act, which led to the foundation of Xavier University on June 06, 2013. This was a new campus of the XIMB Institute and is presently named Xavier Institute of Management or XIM University, Bhubaneshwar. Currently, twelve specific schools offer undergraduate, graduate, and doctorate programs at this University.

XIMB University Courses
XIMB courses are famous among MBA aspirants. There are two types of courses provided by the XIMB- National Courses and International Courses.
1) National Courses:
National Courses comprise three sub courses-
a) MBA-BM
Master Program in Business Management (MBA-BM) is a flagship program of the XIMB University which enables the students to become professionals who are capable of working efficiently in the Public and Private sector. Along with the academics, the course is coupled with inducing ethical and societal responsibility in the students. In the core academic part, XIMB University has designed the curriculum to teach every aspect of the Business Management module. This course also helps the students to follow the path of entrepreneurship.
b) Executive MBA-BM
Master’s Program in Business Management for Working Executives is a one-year MBA program that is designed especially for working professionals. The program is for executives who want to become the business leaders of tomorrow and step up the ladder of success. The USP of this course is that the working executive’s current professional career would not be interrupted.
c) Ph.D. Program
The doctrine course of the XIMB is designed for students who want to enter the field of research in management. To get into the XIMB Ph.D. program, the candidate must have a postgraduate degree in management with at least 55% marks in aggregate from a recognized university. The program develops the orientation and skills to become a research scholar.
2) International Programs-
MBA-Global
XIMB offers a global MBA program in which the institute has collaborations with international universities like Thunderbird School of Global Management, Arizona State University, Antwerp Management School, and Manhattan Institute of Management, and students take part in study exchange programs.

Xavier Institute of Management Bhubaneswar offers admission to its postgraduate, doctoral, and executive-level programs based on merit and entrance results. Candidates seeking admission can apply for the same through their online application method. They can visit the official website of the college and register themselves for the admission procedure on the XIM Admission portal.
XIM University offers more than 28 courses and 11 affiliated institutions through 12 schools to its students. There is a plethora of opportunities for students seeking admission to XIMB University 2024. Eligible and deserving students can also apply for merit-based scholarships to fund their studies throughout their academic careers in XIMB.
Below are the highlights of the XIMB Admission process:
- The admission cycle of Xavier Institute of Management Bhubaneswar begins in January and continues until June month.
- For admission to MBA and E-MBA, candidates must secure at least 55% marks in aggregate in their bachelor’s degree in the relevant specialization that too from a recognized university.
- For admission to E-MBA, candidates are required to possess a relevant work experience of at least 3 years.
- Marks obtained by candidates in the XAT, CAT, GMAT, or XGMT exam will be considered to shortlist candidates for admission.
- The shortlisting candidates are required to appear in and qualify for Group Discussion and Personal Interview rounds conducted by the university.
XIMB Admission is made based on various management exams. The exam scores accepted are as follows-
- XAT (Xavier Aptitude Test)- Conducted in January.
- CAT (Common Admission Test)- Conducted in November
- GMAT (Graduate Management Aptitude Test)- The candidate can schedule the exams.
- X-GMT- Conducted by Xavier University Bhubaneswar.
XIM University Important Details
- Applications are being accepted for various courses at XIM University Bhubaneshwar. Students can apply for admission through their official website.
- A candidate's prior academic performance is taken into consideration to assess their candidature for admission to XIM University.
- CAT, XAT, GMAT, GATE, NMAT, or X-GMT qualifying is mandatory for admission to MBA and Executive MBA programs.
- The WAT and GD/PI for admission are conducted by Xavier University.
- Candidates applying for an M. Tech Program must have a valid GATE Score, that should not be more than 2 years old.

- Xavier University conducts the Xavier Research Aptitude Test (X-RAT) for Ph.D. candidates followed by an interview. Candidates who have qualified for a national or state-level exam are also eligible to apply.

XIM University MBA and EMBA Admissions 2024
XIM University has both MBA and EMBA programs that are full-time degree programs for students. However, for EMBA, a candidate needs to have certain work experience before joining the course. Following is a list of specializations offered in these programs:

The XIMB Cutoffs 2024 for management courses have not been released officially yet. The XIM University Cut-Off list is announced based on the scores of CAT, XAT, or NMAT exams. Students who clear the cut-off are considered for further rounds of admission in full-time MBA in Urban Management and Governance, Master of Business Finance, and MBA in Human Resource Management programs.
According to previous years' trends, the XIM University cut-off scores for the NMAT, CAT, and XAT should be approximately 140, 90, and 80 percentiles, respectively. However, students should wait for the official release of the cut-off list to assess their performance in the qualifying examinations.

XIM University Scholarships are available exclusively for Undergraduate students. They can apply for various scholarship programs both at the state and the national level as well. Check the following points for XIM University Scholarship important details:
- Candidates must have at least 90% aggregate or a minimum 8 CGPA in their class XII board exams in order to be eligible for a 50% fee waiver in their course.
- A student who performs exceptionally and tops the batch in the current year is eligible for a merit reward of a 50% fee waiver in the next semesters of the program.
- 3 selected candidates of the SC, ST, economically disadvantaged, or minority categories will also receive a 50% fee waiver upon submission of valid caste certificates.
