The University Business School (UBS), formerly known as the Department of Commerce and Business Management, is an eminent department of Panjab University in Chandigarh. The department changed to University Business School in 1995 to characterize its expansion and professional maturity as a center of excellence in management education. Over its long-term history, UBS has been a driving force in the creation of innovative, committed managers, researchers, and teachers. The institution is unique not only as a center of modern management thought, but merging, of principles of ethical values, the wisdom of everyday practice, and a scientific attitude, making it possible to prepare students for future leadership in the field of business. UBS is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), under the Special Assistance Programme (SAP) for its contributions to important research and education disciplines. These areas include Supply Chain Management, Accounting, and Business Finance with a focus on Social Responsibility and Human Resource Accounting (HRA), and Investment Decision Making and Innovative Financing with an emphasis on corporate social responsibility (CSR). This highlights the institution’s commitment to advancing management education through research, innovation, and a socially responsible approach.
At UBS many different types of programs are available to satisfy the needs of future professionals. These are full-time MBA (General), MBA Human Resource Management, MBA International Business, MBA Entrepreneurship, and Executive MBA for career people. The institute also offers an M.Com program as one of its courses which equips students with a foundational base in commerce and business management. All the courses are designed in a way that ensures each student has a balance between theoretical knowledge and the application of practical knowledge that is important to survive and thrive in a corporate setting. The faculty at UBS is a fundamental strength of the university. The curriculum is also marked by the obligatory summer internship module. At the end of the first year, all students must work on an 8-week internship in a professional environment. That hands-on experience not only builds these students' knowledge of how a business functions, it also helps us to build some skills that can be put right to work in the office. Further, during their final semester, students engage in research projects that target specific industry problems. With this research study, they not only have the opportunity to translate theoretical knowledge into an application to real-life situations but also have the possibility at the same time to learn in a more meaningful and goal-oriented way.

2. Register for the Relevant Exam

For other PG programs: Register for the Panjab University (PU-CET) (PG) examination.
3. Fill out the UBS Application Form from the official website of University Business School.
4. Pay the Application Fee as instructed on the portal at the end of the application form.
5. Upload Required Documents
Upload scanned copies of essential documents such as:
Academic transcripts
10th and 12th Marksheets
Migration Certificate
Transfer Certificate
Identity proof (Aadhar Card, Passport, etc.)
Passport-sized photograph and signature
6. Submit the Application form on the admission portal.
7. Wait for Shortlisting
At UBS, shortlisting of candidates will depend on the score in the entrance examination. Shortlisted candidates list will be made available on the website of the university.
8. Attend GD and PI
Shortlisted applicants will then be invited to take part in Group Discussion and Personal Interview processes. Prepare adequately for these rounds, as they have a considerable weight in the final selection process.
9. Final Selection and Admission Offer
Following an overall assessment (entrance exam, GD and PI) the final merit list will be released.
If chosen, you will be sent an admission offer from UBS.

The MBA Admissions process at UBS Chandigarh is a two-step process and highly competitive. The shortlisting of candidates is done on the basis of their CAT scores. Shortlisted candidates, having cleared minimum cutoff criteria in the overall percentile as well as sectional percentiles are invited for subsequent rounds of Group Discussions (GD) and Personal Interviews (PI).
