Rani Anna Government Arts College for Women was established in 1970. It is a public college. It has been accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a grade of “A”. The college is affiliated with Manonmaniam Sundaranar University. 

It offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Humanities, Science, Social Work, and Commerce. UG courses include BA, B.Com, B.Sc and BHRD.
