Raghu Engineering College, Visakhapatnam Admissions

Raghu Engineering College Visakhapatnam was established in the academic year of 2001. The college is affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University. The college has been approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the Government of Andhra Pradesh.  The college basically offers B.Tech at Undergraduate level and M.Tech at the Postgraduate level. There are six departments in the college namely Mechanical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Civil Engineering and Basic Sciences & Humanities.

Admission Procedure:

Admission to undergraduate programs like B.E./BTech is based upon the EAMCET(Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test). This test is conducted by the Government of Telangana.  And for a candidate seeking admission to M.Tech program should have appeared and have a valid score in GATE.

Candidates who wish to pursue their career in Engineering can apply for B.E./B.Tech programs offered by the college. There are different courses available and these courses are offered for four years. The intake of each course is already specified by the college. Intake capacity depends on the courses opted by the students. The intakes of B.E./B.Tech program in different courses is mentioned below,

At Postgraduate level Master of Technology (M.Tech) program is offered by the college. Since, there are different courses in M.Tech program as well; a certain no. of intake has been specified by the university. It takes 18 students in each course. Following is the list of no. of students that can be admitted in each course.

The eligibility and Admission procedure for the candidates seeking admission to Undergraduate programs (B.E./B.Tech) are as following,

• Candidates should have passed 10+2 with PCM, scoring minimum 50% of marks (45% for reserved categories)
• Then candidates should have appeared in EAMCET (conducted by Govt. of Telangana)
• Candidates are required to register themselves by visiting the official website of EAMCET
• They are advised to fill in their details carefully and make sure all the details filled by them are available when asked
• The application mode is online and the aspirants are required to make a payment of INR 450 as application fee

Following are the eligibility and Admission procedure for the aspirants seeking admission to postgraduate program M.Tech,

• The candidates are required to have appeared in General Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE)
• If the GATE candidates are not available, the candidates who have appeared in TS PGECET are given preference on merit basis
• Candidates seeking admission should have a B.E/B.Tech degree from AICTE approved institution and a valid GATE score

Admission totally depends on the marks obtained by the candidates in qualifying exams like EAMCET, GATE, JEE-Main or PGECET. After each step, a merit list is released by the institution. Candidates who get to qualify the exams are advised to attend the counseling for verification of documents. For admission, the candidates have to pay a deposit fee in certain amount of time; if they fail to do so the admission gets canceled leaving a vacant place that can be given to another student.
