In North Lakhimpur, on the north bank of the Brahmaputra River in upper Assam, there is a self-governing Institution called North Lakhimpur Institution, which is connected to Dibrugarh University. It is Assam’s first independently run college. The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has given the college, which was founded in 1952, the renowned "A" grade.
Various undergraduate and graduate degrees in the fields of arts, science, commerce, computer science, electronics and communication technology, mass communication, tourism, and travel management, etc. are available through the college. The B.A./B.Sc./BCMBPES/B.Voc. The 1st Year admissions procedure will start on June 11, 2023, for the session 2023–2024. The applicants must submit an online application via the Assam government’s e-samarth portal. The deadline to submit an application was July 3, 2023. For UG admission in 2023, the college has also released the third merit list. On its official portal or other websites, you can get additional information about the courses, eligibility, costs, and ranking of the college.
North Lakhimpur College Admissions Procedure
You must submit your application for admission to the college using the official forms that are included with the prospectus. HSLC/HS results are announced, and then a college prospectus is released. Before filling up the paperwork, one should carefully read the prospectus. The admission forms can be removed from the prospectus, and on the specified date, they must be delivered to the college office entirely filled out. Admission to the college and dorms is solely based on merit and is subject to the principal’s approval. Assam government regulations mandate that students who are SC, ST, or OBC receive a reservation. The admissions committee determines the precise number of seats for the sport and music quota for admittance into various grades. Outstanding students in these subjects may apply directly to the principal with a basic sheet of paper and the necessary credentials. Interview dates for admission to different classes are announced in advance. Before the day of the interview, a list of applicants who are eligible for admission will be posted on the college notice board. Admission and the interview will happen on the same day. The following documents and papers will require the candidates to sign them in person:
- Original or provisional diplomas from the institution you most recently attended.
- Certificate of Birth Date
- Notepads (original)
- If necessary, a gap time certificate from the proper parties.
- Fees that must be paid, etc.
On the day of the interview, the selected candidates must arrange for their own admission. The right to admittance will be lost if the person does not show up.
