NIT Manipur has been ranked in the 101-150th rank band in the Engineering Category by NIRF 2024. Previously, it has secured the 95th position in the 2023 NIRF ranking and is a versatile institution offering a diverse range of academic programs. It is said to be one of the thirty-one NITs in India. It was established in 2010 and was built with funding support of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
This institute is said to have started its first session with only three branches of Engineering namely Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, and Computer Science & Engineering. Two more engineering branches have been added over these years, Civil engineering and Mechanical engineering. The infrastructure of NIT Manipur is made up of a campus spread over an area of 341.5 acres. It is surrounded by the scenic beauty of Imphal. It is administered by the Director of the institute and is supervised by the Boards of Governors.
This prestigious institute also has Boys’ and Girls’ hostel facilities for students coming from out of Manipur. It has medical facilities, banking & post office facilities, and transportation facilities. It offers UG and PG programs. B.Tech at the undergraduate level, M.Tech, and M.Sc at postgraduate level.
