About NIT Trichy:

The National Institute of Technology, Trichy, widely referred to as NIT Trichy, commenced its establishment in the academic year of 1964. The institute was previously known as Regional Engineering College and in the year 2003 it was renamed as National Institute of Technology. The institute is situated on the banks of river Cauvery in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu. because of the affluent experience, the institute has been granted the status of ‘Deemed University’. NIT Trichy is ranked 8th by NIRF 2022 for B.Tech and 781-790 by QS World Rank 2024. NIT Trichy offers UG, PG, and other courses to students in the Engineering, Management, and other fields through 18 departments. 
The institute has also been approved by the University Grants Commission (UGC), the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), and the Government of India.

The establishment of NIT Trichy was undertaken jointly by the Government of India and the Government of Tamil Nadu. The main aim of establishing the institute was to provide quality education though undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs.

The candidates seeking admission must ensure that they fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria defined by the institute. The admission procedure for each program varies from one another. • For admission to B. Tech and B. Arch, the candidates must qualify JEE MAIN examination. The selection procedure is based on the cut off list released by the institute.

• Candidates seeking admission to MCA program must hold a valid score in NIMCET examination.
